It is unknown whether Couture would end his lawsuit and come back to the UFC (http://www.mmafightline.com/news/2008/313/fedor_emelianenko_318666.shtml#) to face Fedor if the UFC were able to offer such a fight, but Couture has stated on numerous occasions that this is the only fight that makes sense at this stage of his career. It should be noted that nothing is eminent at this point and negotiations are in the general discussion phase. If made, however, the deal would be unprecedented. The UFC is notorious for locking up fighters in long term deals and not allowing them to leave as champions. We'll have more on this story as it develops.

Randy has a month left on his fight contract with the UFC. Once that expires, he has a one year, no fight clause that doesnt allow him to fight, commentate, or promote any organization other than the UFC. So unless Randy and Dana can iron out their differences, we wont see The Natural in a cage or ring for one month and a year. This really sucks, but Randy signed this contract last February...He got pissed and felt disrespected that the Pride guys were coming to the UFC and tripling what he made... and rightfully so. There isnt a Randy fight I wouldnt pay to see. So when Dana refused a raise and hid behind the contract, Randy walked. Now there in a nasty legal battle as Randy tries to get outta the contract...
Recently though, Randy has been seen cornering fighters in some of the bigggest UFC fight cards... He cornered Wanderlai Silva when he faced Jardine, and Forrest when he fought Rampage. Both times, they shook hands and exchanged brief conversation in the ring after the fight... Randy fighting in the UFC...? Maybe...? Not likely, Randy is sponsered by Affliction Clothing and also has his own branch in the company(Extreme Couture).
So with Fedor already fighting for Affliction, the only thing stopping the Fedor/Randy fight is a damn piece of paper. And as THE most anticipated fight in history, Dana will most definitley fight in court until the bitter end. Dana will do this and hope that by the time Randy is fully released, Affliction is out of buisness or Fedor loses a fight. The fight wont have as much magic if Fedor is coming off of a loss.
Only time will tell but dont count on Dana letting Randy go... Cause Affliction will give Randy a truck load of money for that fight. Dana may be an ass... but the guy isnt stupid...

Yep. Maar als Fedor nog drie partijen draait in het komende jaar, zal je mij daar niet over horen.

De "echte" competition was/is alle (ex) HW pride-vechters en daar heeft Fedor de beste verslagen (zie ook maar wie nu de current HW champ van de UFC) dus dat ben ik niet met je eens dattie niet meedoet aan de "echte" competitie.

Het bericht dat Fedor nog 2 of 3 keer gaat knokken moet ik nog zien. Ik hoorde iets over oktober Affliction, November zijn de Sambo kampioenschappen en op oudejaarsavond traditie getrouw een gevecht in Japan. Dat zouden 3 (met Sambo 3-5) gevechten in 3 maanden zijn..lijkt me teveel van het goede...
In Sambo ligt z'n hart dus lijkt het me sterk dattie dat laat schieten. misschien alleen als de kassa ergens anders HEEL hard gaat rinkelen dat het anders loopt.
