http://www.fightline.com/images/pic/emelianenko.jpgM-1 Global president, Vadim Finkelstein, recently revealed (http://www.m1mixfight.com/info/interviews/2008/7/8/Vadim-Finkelstein-interview/) that Fedor Emelianenko (http://www.fightline.com/fighters/fedor_emelianenko.shtml) will attempt to make up for his inactivity over the past couple of years by fighting at least three times in the next six months.

"Two more fights are planned for Fedor," said Finkelstein. "The first one in October in the context of the next Affliction show in conjunction with M-1 Global. The second one at New Year’s Eve in Japan, most likely it’s going to be the M-1 Challenge Finale and Fedor will compete in a superfight, probably his opponent will be the winner of ‘Fighting Fedor’ or another top fighter."
Fighting Fedor is a reality show featuring 16 heavyweight contestants from all over the world. The contestants will be vying for the oppertunity to face Fedor Emelianenko in the shows finale, likely on New Years Eve. The fighters will travel to Saint Petersburg where they will live and train with Club Red Devil (Fedor's Fight Team). There they will face one another in consecutive matches over the span of the series until only one remains. "The shooting is commencing come the end of July-early August," said Finklestiein. "Right now we round every tiny thing out."

klinkt heftig en daar moeten dan ook wel serieuse vechters in zitten willen ze tegen Fedor mogen draaien!

Fedor Emelianenko will have his own reality TV show. While UFC heavyweight champion Randy Couture (16-8-0) remains tied up in legal squabbles with the owners of the octagon, top-ranked Russian heavyweight Fedor Emelianenko (27-1-0) has decided to do his own reality TV show. Coming off a win over 7-foot-tall 352-pound Korean giant Hong Man Choi (1-1-0), Emelianenko will star in "Fighting Fedor". Produced by M-1 Global, the show features 16 heavyweight prospects in a tournament-style competition. The winner gets a fight against Emelianenko. A video teasing the show is now up on M1mixfight.com, as well as on youtube.com. "M-1 Global is embarking on a journey across four continents to find MMA's best young heavyweight contenders," the video narrator says. "16 fighters will travel to St. Petersburg, Russia's Red Devils Sports Club, where they will open their doors to American television cameras for the first time. From there, the fighters will spend the next several weeks living together, training together and fighting each other in a full-contact mixed-martial-arts tournament, the likes of which have never been seen on American television." Since signing with M-1 Global instead of the UFC, Fedor has faced criticism for ducking top-level competition. Although M-1 has yet to announce the fighters competing on the show, it's likely a safe bet to guess that Couture and Josh Barnett (20-5-0) are not among them.

http://www.fightline.com/images/mma/pic/emelianenko.jpgBlue Entertainment Sports Television (BEST – BEST :: Home (http://www.experienceBEST.com)) today announced the signing of top ranked Russian MMA fighter Fedor Emelianenko within their Fight Sports/MMA division. The world’s undisputed top heavyweight fighter, Fedor will look to BEST for his various marketing and television deals. In addition, BEST is the US representative of M-1 Global and will assist the company in television, sponsorships and strategic partnerships as well as promoting other M-1 fighters. Fedor joins the likes of fellow fighter Houston Alexander as well as A-list athletes such as Andy Roddick, Rasheed Wallace and Reggie Bush.

“I have been blessed with great success in my career and I’m excited to work with another company that also as similar drive,” says Fedor Emelianenko. “BEST is leading the industry in innovative branding for their clients and I am confident that they will assist me in reaching the next level.”

Fedor most recently became the first-ever W.A.M.M.A. heavyweight champion by beating former UFC Champion Tim Silvia in a surprising 36 second match which is largely recognized to be a classic in MMA history. The last person to hold the PRIDE heavyweight championship, Fedor made the unique choice to forego the largest promoter of mixed martial arts, the UFC, and sign a three fight deal with Affliction Promotions. Fedor has consistently made headlines with his unmatched talent and ability within the sport.

M-1 Global and BEST will launch a Fedor reality show entitled “Fighting Fedor” later this year to give an aspiring fighter the chance to train at the fabled Red Devil Fight Club in St Petersburg, Russia. The winner of the series will get the opportunity to fight Fedor. BEST will be also be distributing the M-1 Challenge worldwide this coming year, a series of 22 one-hour HD shows of the nation vs. nation mixed martial arts competition. The next challenge will take place in Korea.

“We are thrilled to be working with Fedor as he continuously showcases his growth in talent and success within the MMA space, “ says Dennis Spencer, Executive Vice President, BEST Television. “We look forward to building his marketability and presence within the United States and abroad as he defends his position at the top spot.”
