Short interview with Jessie “THE PRESSURE”Gibbs before going to Japan.
Reporter – Jessie, what’s your correct name?
Jessie(smiling) - Jessie Gibbs, J E S S I E – G I B B S!!
Reporter – Jessie, are you ready for it??
Jessie(smiling) – For what?
Reporter – For Japan!!
Jessie(smiling) – Oh yeah , sure man, that’s going to be fun!!
Reporter – How did you prepare for your next victim, and what do you know about him?
Jessie(smiling) – I trained a lot, like always. BJJ with Team Agua and MMA with Gegard Mousasi, Ricardo Wondel and my other friends from the weekly training.
I don’t know a lot about my next aponent, besides that he fought in Pride a couple of times.
I don’t worry about this, I have all faith in my victory, and will go for K.O. or Submission. I’m very aware of my qualities and always trying to improve them.
Reporter – Who would you like to fight next, Dutch and international, after Japan?
Jessie – There are not many top Dutch heavyweight MMA fighters! But I would like to fight Gilbert Yvel for sure, he has been avoiding me for some time now. He was challenged some times already.
People say things like Ah Yvel got nothing to win, but I understand that he doesn’t want to lose.
He’s fighting with people less experienced then I am.
I do have the experience. Since I was 13 I fought Kyokushin. Six years ago I started BJJ and I carry a brown Belt. Three years ago I started training MMA and won 10 of my 11 fights.
I took on a match against Alexander emiliananko one week before the show.
I could have won that fight, I wasn’t sharp, so I lost.
I would like to have a rematch because I know I can have him.
Actually it doesn’t matter who I fight! I Fight any good fighter.
Reporter – Oke, That’s clear. Jessie, do you have a manager, or a contract? Are you part of any team?
Jessie– Well for training BJJ, Always Team Agua, but in MMA I’m happy to participate in the Dutch M-1 Team. After Japan there is another match planned in Russia, also fighting for Dutch MMA Team.
I do not have any guarantee, contract or manager, only one sponsor for fight gear, ZONA-MMA, they provide me with everything I need for training etc. But I do not have any financial sponsor.
Holland is a small country and somehow I always meet people who could mean something for me, I’m open to any good offer, and fight as much as I can, just because I like to fight.
I was supposed to fight Hakim Gouram on the 5th of October in Ahoy, but he canceled. Now the organizations would arrange another opponent for me, but up to now I still don’t know who.
Reporter – JessieThank you, I wish you good luck in Japan , and hope to see you fight in Holland as well.!! Kick ass!!
