Noted Brazilian jiu-jitsu practitioner and Xtreme Couture trainer Jay White (2-5) and reigning IFL heavyweight champion Roy Nelson (12-3) will likely meet at "Affliction: Day of Reckoning" in October.

Additionally, "Affliction: Banned" winner Antonio Rogerio Nogueira (14-3) and reigning IFL light heavyweight champion Vladimir Matyushenko (21-3) are expected to rematch at the upcoming show.

Sources close to the event tell MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com
(http://www.mmajunkie.com)) the bouts are being discussed and could be announced as early as this week.

A press conference for Affliction's Oct. 11 sophomore event takes place on Wednesday and includes both Nelson and Matyushenko.

The expected signings of White and Nelson further bolster Affliction's stacked heavyweight division, which already features half of the world's top-10 fighters.

White's record can be deceiving. Despite five losses in his eight pro fights, the well-respected ground specialist has lost to three UFC vets (Christian Wellisch, Jake O'Brien and twice to Jeff Monson) and a fighter with a 9-2 record (Mark Burch). He's spent the majority of his time competing in -- and winning -- many notable BJJ tournaments, including Grapper's Quest, and the North American Grappling Association and Pan American Jiu-Jitsu Championships.

Nelson, meanwhile, is a BodogFIGHT and IFL veteran who's won five in a row and seven of his past eight fights. "Big Country" was 6-1 in the IFL with his only loss coming to notable Ben Rothwell. He won the title with a victory over Antonio Jaoude in December and made two successful title defenses.

In a light-heavyweight bout, Nogueira, a longtime PRIDE fighter, will look to build off July's "Affliction: Banned" TKO victory over Edwin Dewees when he meets Matyushenko, a former UFC fighter currently riding an eight-fight winning streak. The IFL's reigning -- and perhaps last -- light-heavyweight title-holder will fight for the first time since April.

The two fighters first met in August 2002 at a Universal Fighting-Arts Organization (UFO) event, where Matyushenko picked up a unaninous-decision victory.
