World traveler and all-around colorful character Jason "Mayhem" Miller (21-6) has been involved in his share of entertaining fights. With recent reports that DREAM -- promoters of Miller's previous two fights -- may be in financial trouble, the 27-year-old may soon find himself a free agent once again.

Miller discussed his status while a guest of "The Lights Out Show" on the TAGG Radio Network (TAGG Radio Network - Home of TAGG Radio & The Lights Out Show! (http://www.taggradio.com)), the official radio partner of MMAjunkie.com (UFC blog for UFC news, UFC rumors, fighter interviews and event previews/recaps | MMAjunkie.com
(http://www.mmajunkie.com)).

"As far as the fighting front goes, I'm not sure yet," Miller said of his possible return to action. "I've got my DREAM contract still alive. I don't know what's going on."

Amid recent allegations by Nick Diaz that DREAM still had not paid him for his TKO victory in May, Miller stood firm in his support of the organization.

"I think that's just a rumor," Miller said. "Maybe [DREAM] stiffed a couple of fighters or something. But I'm sure they'll pay those guys eventually. Maybe they were just like, 'The check's in the mail.'"

Miller has fought in organizations all over the world including DREAM, the UFC, WEC, ICON Sport and the now-defunct WFA. And while the ground wizard always entertains, Miller has purposely steered clear of long-term deals with any one organization.

"A long-term deal is like being married," Miller said. "You don't get to go and bang other chicks."

Although remaining largely independent is not an easy task, Miller believes it to be necessary to capitalize on his time in the sport.

"It's scary for a fighter to do that because if you're not with the UFC, people look at you like you've got leprosy," Miller explained. "I'm not worried about that. I know I can make a lot of money elsewhere.

"When it comes down to it, at the end of the day, you've got to make some money now. You're only going to be able to punch people in the face for so long. Then you're out of it."

The fate of DREAM may remain largely in the balance over their next few events. While Miller remains in the dark over the eventual outcome, he hopes the organization will survive well into the future.

"They've always treated me really phenomenally well," Miller said. "I don't know if they are having some kind of undercover trouble somewhere or some kind of TV trouble. I'm not sure. I do know they treated me great. They're a kick-ass organization."
