A lightweight showdown between former UFC champion, Sean “The Muscle Shark” Sherk and 12-1 Tyson Griffin has today been made official for the UFC’s debut event in Chicago.
Sherk will look to get back to winning ways in this one, having lost to current champion, B.J. Penn back in May, although a fight with the young, talented Griffin will be no easy task. Having won his last four fights inside the octagon, Griffin will look to round off 2008 and cement himself into the title picture.
Having been rumoured for months, the fight was today announced by UFC.com and will line up alongside a UFC middleweight title fight between Anderson Silva and Patrick Cote and an electrifying welterweight clash between the always intense Diego Sanchez and Thiago Alves. This event is quickly becoming a must see pay-per-view.
