Not in real-time real-life or on TV. We have enough violence. In other civil nations it should be barred.
Yet CBS is showing barbarism this spring via 'cage fighting' per Reuters' Steve Gorman. It's unthinkable. Yet CBS sinks to such a low.
The body is meant to be the housing of the Holy Spirit. 'Cage fighting' unleashes unholy spirits against the body God created. It is devilment of the most obvious sort.
"Branded as barbaric by critics in the 1990s for its lack of rules, mixed martial arts, or MMA, has evolved into a more mainstream sport that bars biting, eye-gouging, head-butting and strikes to the groin.
"But fierce punching, kicking, karate, judo and wrestling moves -- with no protective gear -- are still very much a part of the sport."
Citizens must let CBS know that this is not tolerated in our Republic. Children shooting one another. Illegals kidnapping and then torturing. One in every hundred Americans in prison. Now 'cage fighting.'
Iran threatens to blow up the world. Extremist Muslims move across the planet demanding the sharia so-called legal and justice system that allows women to be shot in the head, youths to be lashed in public squares and now CBS displays 'cage fighting.'
The world becomes increasingly insane. Reasonable persons must decry such inroads.
"Beginning in April or May, CBS plans to broadcast four MMA events each year as two-hour live specials airing on Saturday nights, a time period once reserved for such family fare as 'The Mary Tyler Moore Show,' 'The Bob Newhart' and 'The Carol Burnett Show.'
"But CBS executives are seizing on the growing popularity of mixed martial arts, especially among the young men most prized by TV advertisers, as an opportunity to build a lucrative franchise where none exists."
No matter how much the 'cage fighting' enthusiasts scream for its allowance, don't listen to them. They are wrong, dead wrong. The fact is that they are bloodthirsty primitives who have no place in a decent society.
"'It is a sport that has a very strong fan base and attracts a terrific audience,' CBS Entertainment executive Kelly Kahl told Reuters. 'We're putting it on Saturday nights, a night that has been underserved by all the networks for quite some time. So it's low risk and a potentially large reward.'"
One would hope that Kelly Kahl's children would be attacked by a cage fighter. Then let's see how significant the 'sport' is to a so-called executive. Executive? Demote Kelly Kahl to the alleys. Kahl deserves to scum through the garbage cans.
"Kahl said CBS would broadcast its MMA matches as they are already presented on Showtime, with no special rules or alterations to tone down the level of violence.
"The refereed matches are conducted on circular mats enclosed in a mesh cage in a series of five-minute rounds."
We had the dogs killing dogs. Now we have the mortals slamming mortals. This is sport?
But with so-called celebrity sports people dishonoring the name 'sport' today with steroid use, one wonders where the venue of 'sport' is headed in a nuclear-crazed world. Can anybody of sensible brain do anything to stop this widespread carnage?
Obviously, CBS has made it known it is not at all interested in conducting such a worthwhile campaign.
