As if signing with the UFC wasn't daunting enough, his first night spent inside the UFC Octagon was to be against Cain Velasquez, a fighter who has finished every one of his professional MMA guys by first round KO. Now due to injury on Velasquez's part, the fight has been called off. Now Al-Turk is set to fight an opponent with 13 more professional MMA fights than Velasquez. And a total of 12 wins, 8 of which coming by KO, one of the men recently added to the Wolfslair roster, Cheick Kongo.
Mustapha Al-Turk's manager Alexis Demetriades spoke to MMAWEEKLY about the recent news.

"We got word from Joe Silva that Velazquez has pulled out due to injury and will be undergoing knee surgery to fix it. It’s a shame as we had a strategy in place and we were all set to go. We were offered Kongo by Joe and we accepted the fight. We were just waiting for Kongo to get his signed bout agreement back before we could confirm it. Everything else is the same. Mus will be fighting on the main card, on pay-per-view. It's a good fight."
The fight is expected to take place on the NYE card in Las Vegas on December 27th
