This is the account number for donations: 925664987 on name of: Fighting for Water, Amsterdam, The Netherlands
To Whom It May Concern;
A popular underground poet called BangBang (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tL3dhdGNoP3Y9ZXVsdH k3aEQxdG8=) was involved with a photographer called Eddy van Wessel (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmVkZHl2YW53ZXNzZWwuY29tL2JhbmdsYW Rlc2gvYmFuZ2xhZGVzaC5odG1s), who specializes in taking photographs of war torn and impoverished areas of the world. After seeing pictures of people in Bangladesh suffering for not having the basic essential clean water, he was driven to try and help do something about this. This started with a plan for him to draw attention to himself so he could draw the publics attention to the plight of these poor people. So the first step in his plan was controversy, the tool he used for this was Valerio, a popular presenter on Dutch TV.
BangBang went on live TV on TMF and threw Valerio off his couch, knowing this would get the attention of mainstream media and it did. Millions of hits on websites nationwide and within a week he was invited to the popular chat show Jensen (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tL3dhdGNoP3Y9OEFoV0 JMT1U5ekk=) who he also scared the life out of by appearing to attack Valerio again on national TV. Just at the crucial moment when he knew he had every bodys attention he revealed it was a publicity stunt to have the audience learn and hopefully empathize with other human beings that dont have the luxury of clean healthy water. People seemed to enjoy the entertainment value but never contacted BangBang to volunteer their help. But being the type of personality that doesnt give up easy he came up with the idea of a rapper learning somebody elses fighting form and then challenging them at their own art in just a few months. His angle on this is that you can get people that love and hate you to come and watch weather you win or lose.
He discovered an organization called AKVO (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmFrdm8ub3JnL2Jsb2cvP3A9MjAw) that connect with teams that build clean running water pumps in problem areas. He learned from AKVO it only costs about 500 Euros to get them up and running. The teams on the ground in the problem areas teach maintenance of the pumps and personal hygiene. The pumps cater for around 300 people for 25 years. So together with his new found popularity and conveniently fitting tough guy persona he found superstar fighters and legendary trainers more than willing to teach him the Dutch specialty of kickboxing. Some of the names he has enjoyed training with are Lucien Carbin, Andy Sauwer, Tyrone Spong, Gylbert Yvel, Peter Verschuren, and a host of other trainers and young male and female fighters. BangBang put a bulletin on his MySpace (http://www.myspace.com/johnisbangbang2) to request a fighter around his weight division to fight him. A young man called Shannon responded and both are now in training.
Another tool BangBang decided to use was to capture the process and inevitable fight night on camera in the shape of a reality show. Something he knows creates viewers because he already had a successful reality show on MTV called Pie&Mash (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnlvdXR1YmUuY29tL3ZpZXdfcGxheV9saX N0P3A9MjY3NkUzRjlBNUUwQkRBMQ==). A man called Wim an owner from a drinks company called GoFast heard about BangBangs mission and decided to support him financially to pay for the production. Another thing to be noted is that BangBang purposely got out of shape before training on a diet of booze and junk food to also spread the message that with the right diet and healthy training you can lead a more fulfilling and successful life. The latest in this story is the Escape nightclub in Amsterdam who has opened their doors to house the fight night which will be on the 26th of January 2009. This will include a host off popular musicians, DJs, and rappers, with the line up growing by the day, the emphasis being; to contribute your popular status to the evening, in the hope of raising more gate money for the cause. So lets see who cares and who doesnt.
Trust me whoever is popular in Holland will be approached. The reality show leading to the fight will be broadcast on the StateMagazine (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LnN0YXRlbWFnYXppbmUubmw=) website and the 101Barz (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LjEwMWJhcnoubmwvZmlnaHRpbmdmb3J3YX Rlcg==) website and will start on December the 12th 2008. BangBang is willing to give FOR FREE!! the reality show to any website world wide that is willing to upload it and give it adequate publicity in the hopes that it will inspire people to donate to the Fighting for Water charity, which by the way guarantees that a 100% of your money goes straight to the teams in the problem areas who are building the water pumps. Some of the money will also go towards sanitation, i.e. teaching the people about cross contamination to avoid the sometimes fatal problem of diarrhea amongst the young and old, plus the building of efficiently operating toilet systems. For more info of what happens on the ground go to AKVO (http://www.msplinks.com/MDFodHRwOi8vd3d3LmFrdm8ub3JnL2Jsb2cvP3A9MjAw).
In Holland the more people that know about this project the more people will hopefully come to the fight which means more door money that BangBang will give a 100% of towards the building of water pumps. BangBang is hoping that as many publicity outlets as possible will help bring this cause to public attention. And not only that, also that, the kickboxing world is a positive place for our young people to stay healthy, and learn positive life skills.
Yours sincerely,
Bang Bang
