Thesun.uk (http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/ufc/article2311041.ece) is reporting do to a hand injury and a hurt jaw Quinton “Rampage” Jackson will not fight Rashad Evans at UFC 98 on May 23.
Instead undefeated Lyoto Machida will face Rashad for the title. J
ackson will be giving the winner of that fight.

Als het tegen jackson was had ik er dolgraag een echte weddenschap met je van gemaakt.
Maar tegen Evans vind ik te lastig om eerlijk te zijn. Evans gaat geen druk leggen op Machida zoals andere wel deden. De vraag is welke techniek Machida dan gaat toepassen. Ik zie een gevecht dat echt alle twee de kanten op kan gaan. Hoe dan ook ik gun het ze beiden.

Goede beslissing en idd eindelijk gerechtigheid! Machida heeft zowat de hele divisie leeg geveegd, dus heeft mijns inziens ook het meeste recht op een titleshot. En ik denk zomaar dat het wel eens een dikke partij zou kunnen gaan worden tussen hem en Evans. Altijd vet, twee ongeslagen vechters tegenover elkaar!

UFC President Dana White confirmed Wednesday that Lyoto Machida (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Lyoto-Machida-7513), not Quinton Jackson (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Quinton-Jackson-348), will challenge champion Rashad Evans (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Rashad-Evans-10200) for the light heavyweight title at UFC 98 on May 23.
In an interview with Yahoo Sports, White said Jackson needs jaw surgery and would not be ready for UFC 98.
The Jackson-Evans matchup, which was hyped Saturday following Jackson’s win over Keith Jardine (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Keith-Jardine-2638) at UFC 96, was intended to replace the Brock Lesnar (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Brock-Lesnar-17522) vs. Frank Mir (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Frank-Mir-2329) main event that was postponed after Mir’s knee surgery.
Evans told Sherdog.com on Monday (http://www.sherdog.com/news/news/evans-expects-machida-at-ufc-98-16510) that he had a “feeling” that Jackson would not be able to fight. In Machida, he faces an opponent who, like himself, is undefeated.
“The kid’s been phenomenal,” Evans said of Machida. “He’s been better than phenomenal. He’s been looking better every fight. But that’s the fight business. That’s the fun part about a fight is the fact that you go in there with an opponent that sometimes seems insurmountable. But then you figure it out and that makes the victory that much sweeter. With that said, there may be some kinks in his armor that I have yet to see that I can exploit when I look at the tapes more closely. Nobody’s unbeatable. Machida’s been looking slicker than I don’t know what, but everybody has a weakness even if you do look slick as oil. Everyone has a weakness
