Aleksander Emelianenko Leaves Red Devil, Continues to Pretend That He Can Fight in America!

In a statement posted by Dream Fighters (http://dreamfighters.com/?p=1677), Aleksander Emelianenko (http://wiki.cagepotato.com/index.php/Aleksander_Emelianenko) announced that he has left Russia’s Red Devil team under what he claims are amicable circumstances. Of course, he also goes on to claim that he will soon be fighting in America again, so maybe we shouldn’t believe everything we read here:
I will say right away that there was no conflict between us. I asked the club president Vadim Filkenstein to remove all contractual obligations from me connecting me to “Red Devil”, as well as their obligations for me. Vadim was not against this. But we have also agreed, that as a promoter he will still offer me to participate in some events and fights, and I will review those offers. I asked Vadim to put me down for the next Affliction event, which will happen in the Summer, since I have the contract with Americans for three fights. Currently there is no concrete answer, since it is not yet known when exactly this event will take place, and who will be participating. But nothing is interfering with me fighting on such a big show in America.
Nothing is interfering with you fighting in America, Aleks? Not even the California State Athletic Commission refusing to license you (http://www.cagepotato.com/2008/07/18/aleks-emelianenko-out-big-daddy-in-for-affliction) and then vowing that no other commission in the country would do so either (http://www.cagepotato.com/2008/08/07/day-of-reckoning-update-sylvia-rothwell-aleks-out-hieron-expected/)? Any of that ring a bell?
Apparently not, because Aleks is acting like the offers are rolling in now that he’s shed himself of those pesky Red Devils. He says several different organizations are interested in him, and mentions only that the CSAC didn’t let him fight on the first Affliction show for “various reasons.” They don’t give a damn about those reasons in Europe, because he’ll be fighting Ibragim Magomedov (http://www.sherdog.com/fighter/Ibragim-Magomedov-2951) at the end of March in a Russia vs. Europe event (even though they’re both Russian, you figure it out).
As for the future, Aleks has big dreams. One might even say they’re so big as to be delusional, in fact:
I said it many times already that I want to fight with the best and can repeat it again. I’m ready for big fights and for big victories, so that by the time my brother decides to leave the sport and move on, I can deservingly take his place.
Right. Because all the rankings have Fedor at #1 and Aleks right below him. At least the rankings in Aleks’ mind do. That’s also the place where he doesn’t have any blood-borne diseases (http://www.cagepotato.com/2008/07/21/aleks-emelianenko-might-have-the-hep/) and can shoot lasers out of his eyes.
