Phil Baroni shares his pre-fight prediction on his upcoming slugfest against former UFC welterweight contender Joe Riggs at the next Strikeforce show, which is scheduled for the Scottrade Center in St. Louis, Mo., on June 6. “The New York Badass” warns “Diesel” — who is apparently still miffed that he had to settle for a fight against Baroni when Jake Shields opted to fight Robbie Lawler instead — not to overlook him. It may be sound advice — Baroni bounced back from a serious case of losses (five of seven) to close out 2008 with three straight wins over Scott Jansen (knockout), Ron Verdadero (technical knockout), and Olaf Alfonso (decision) since dropping down to compete as a welterweight in the 170 pound division. Will he make it four in a row against Riggs in a few weeks or will he struggle once again in the spotlight?
