Im moving to Leiden in September for 1 year to go to the University there.

When I was visiting last month I stayed in Amsterdam and went to VOS gym and Meijiro gym. I looked at the sticky on top but I dont know all the cities in the Netherlands.

What are some of the better gyms in or near Leiden/The Hague/Amsterdam?

I know Vos, Meijiro, Mike's gym. IM looking for a gym that is close to the train station or close enough that I can ride my bike. Any suggestions? Thanks

Thanks! I know Amsterdam is better for gyms I just dont know if I will be able to get there a couple of times a week due to school. I plan on traveling the country on saturdays and trying out different gyms though.

Right now Im looking for one I can go to 2-3 times a week around my school schedule.

Has anyone trained at Jurojin???

I looked it up and its pretty close to where I will be staying, I know its not VOS gym or anything but how is the instruction?

I'm not familiar with the training methods at Jurojin but it's always worth a look right? Especially when you live pretty close.

someone told me G. Moesasi used to train there but online the pictures show a very small gym. Not sure if they spar there or only hit the pads.

Hopefully it will have adequate instruction and I can train there during the week and on saturdays head into Amsterdam and train at VOS gym.

I want to train at VOS sooo badly. I am a huge Hoost fan and I know he doenst train there anymore but I cant wait to train there.

Man its only 30 minutes from leiden to amsterdam by train. If you really want to train there, then you will do it.

I know its close but I also really want to get my second Masters. Unfortunately training takes a back seat to studying next year, but Ill make it over there a lot im sure, just not 3-4 times a week.

30 minutes isnt that bad, right? you can always read in the train. I sit in the bus for about an hour to get to my gym

Jurojin is very good. You should first try there.

Otherwise, Kamakura, that's close by also.

if you're a student at leiden university also check out the kickboxing classes at the leiden sportcentre. I'ts very cheap, not bad and you can also do judo or JJJ. Sahinbas also does
kickboxing I think and can't be far from where you'll live if you are near Jurojin (both are less than 5 min. from my house in Leiden).

good luck
