Mike’s Gym Try out….

Op zondag 7 juni 2009 was het weer zover in de Sporthal Elzenhagen. Na het grote succes van vorig jaar was er vandaag de tweede editie van de Mike’s Gym Try-out.
Danny Delvers, Wesley Musscher en Danny van Bergen hebben de organisatie op zich genomen. Voor Danny was het zijn eerste keer dat hij het evenement mee organiseerde Dit was gelijk een mooie kans voor hem om te laten zien hoe een dergelijk evenement verloopt, helemaal omdat het een stage opdracht voor school was. En wederom stonden er een hoop vrijwilligers klaar om te helpen waar nodig. Het was op deze sportieve dag mogelijk om een mobiele telefoon en een maand gratis trainen bij Mike’s Gym te winnen.

De gedachte achter deze Try-outs is om de jeugd op een leuke en speelse manier kennis te laten maken met de verschillende takken van vechtsporten. Vooral om te laten zien dat het geen gevaarlijke sport is en dat het niet meer risico’s met zich meebrengt als andere sporten.

Dit jaar waren er weer erg veel jeugdigen aanwezig. Zij hadden opblaasbare sumoworstelaarpakken en boksende reuze kangoeroes tot hun beschikking en kregen de mogelijkheid om in deze pakken hun enthousiasme voor de vechtsport te laten zien. Ook was er een gladiatorgame waarin je de tegenstander uit kon dagen voor een duel. In het midden van de hal stond een boksring, zo kon de jeugd beleven wat een geweldig gevoel het is om in de ring te staan. Kortom, het was een interactieve dag voor alle aanwezigen!

Er moest natuurlijk ook “serieus”getraind worden en daarom waren er verschillende korte demonstratielessen in MMA, boksen, kickboksen en body-combat.
De MMA lessen werden verzorgd door Alex Da Silva en Danny van Bergen. Anda nam de bokslessen voor zijn rekening en de kickboks lessen werden gegeven door Mike’s pupil Murthell Groenhart. Iedereen wilde natuurlijk zijn steentje bijdragen op deze bijzondere dag en daarom werden de body-combat lessen verzorgd door niemand anders dan Mike Passenier zelf. Mike ging af en toe tekeer zoals een ware drilsergeant dat tegen zijn soldaten doet. Hij leek wel vergeten te zijn dat zijn “soldaten” tussen de 6 en 14 jaar waren! Dit laat maar weer zien hoe fanatiek Mike is!

Verder was er een demonstratie partij tussen Murthell Groenhart en Boy Boy. Beide staan bekend om hun hoge trappen en vliegende knieën. De twee jongens wisten er een mooie show van te maken en het publiek genoot er zichtbaar van! Ook was er aan de Try-out een loterij verbonden en als je aan alle sportonderdelen mee had gedaan, maakte je kans op leuke prijzen. Je kon een mobiele telefoon winnen en een maand gratis trainen bij Mike’s Gym. De uitreiking van deze prijzen werd verricht door K-1 vechter Melvin Manhoef.

Iedereen heeft een enorm leuke dag gehad. Vooral de jeugd heeft zich goed kunnen vermaken.
Alle vrijwilligers en deelnemers ontzettend bedankt voor jullie enthousiasme en inzet. Dankzij jullie was het wederom een geslaagde Try-out!

In het bijzonder willen we Joya Fight Gear bedanken voor het beschikbaar stellen van de trap- en stootkussens, handschoenen en scheenbeschermers; Rudolf bedankt!

Leuk verslag
Vorig jaar waren wij er ook bij. Vond het ook erg jammer dat we dit jaar gemist hebben. Volgend jaar zijn we er zeker bij. (mits het niet weer gelijk met venray valt)
Max en Luc vonden het ook een super leuke dag.

ze hadden danny nooit die flying armbar moeten leren.hij blijft em maar steeds proberen zie ik.hehe.gelukkig weet ik het nu wel(auw toen niet)

en er zit in heel groot talentje tussen. kweet niet hoe hij heet.dat kleine jochie doet judo enzo.traint met ons wel eens vaker mee. tijdens de trianingen van piet. en dan is dat kindje super fanatiek. en een keertje met hem gerold op de grond. en damn hij weet al veel technieken op de grond, en dat voor zijn leeftijd. super

Heel mooi verslag Adenane Top gedaan.

De opkomst was nog groter dan vorig jaar en hebben 140 deelnemers gehad met de trainingen. Ik heb een leuke dag gehad met al die enthousiaste kinderen!
en ook nog even in de ring kunnen staan met mike's gym toekomstig talent en mijn nichtje :P Jada (2 jaar) ze kan ook al aardig de pads ophouden zoals je op de foto's ziet.
Ik wil iedereen bedanken voor zijn bijdrage aan deze fantastische dag !
