Mixfight on Tour: M-1 Training Center Amsterdam

Sinds enkele weken is Nederland een mega gym rijker! nml het M-1 Mixed Martial Arts training center in Amsterdam. Deze gym is gevestigd op de locatie waar voorheen Continental Gym zat aan de Sloterweg 1043 in Amsterdam. Hoewel de gym al open is en er al prachtig uitziet is men nog bezig met enkele uitbreidingen zowel qua exterieur als interieur. Zo zal er oa nog een extra ring komen en een deel van een kooi om in te trainen.

Mixfight.nl zou mixfight.nl niet zijn als wij niet alvast een kijkje gingen nemen om het een en ander op de gevoelige plaat vast te leggen.

De avond dat we gingen kijken waren er voornamelijk de staande trainingen gaande. Want niet alleen wordt er MMA verzorgd door de M-1, ook Team Slamm!! heeft zich hier gesetteld zodat er op beide fronten op hoog niveau getraind kan worden. Zo zagen we Germaine de Randamie zich voorbereiden op haar partij in Marcantie op 28 juni a.s. waar zij tegen Karla Benitez zal vechten. Dit alles werd gevolgd door een tv team. Marco Pique was in training voor zijn WMC muaythai wereldtitel gevecht later deze maand op Jamaica. Anthony Kane had zijn pijlen al gericht op Cedric Burgzorg die op hem wacht in Marcantie. En Ismael Londt ronde zijn succesvolle voorbereiding af voor zijn partij op Gentlemen Promotions. Hier versloeg hij in zijn eerste A partij Rico Verhoeven.

Ook werden er een groep recreanten onder handen genomen door Milton Felter en Youssef Ahknihk en waren diverse andere wedstrijdvechters er in training. Ook forumbroeder Rising Sun bereidde zich hiervoor op zijn komende trip naar Thailand.

Binnenkort zal mixfight wederom op bezoek gaan voor een verslagvan de MMA training.

M-1 Global contracted fighter and former DREAM middleweight champion
Gegard Mousasi opened Amsterdam's first MMA training center on
Tuesday, May 19.
By day, the the training center will be the home for Team Benelux of
the M-1 Challenge as well as other M-1 Global fighters such as
Mousasi, Jason Jones, Jessie Gibbs and Bogdan Christea. In the
evening, various styles of martial arts will be taught to the civilian
population.
Martial arts disciplines being taught include kickboxing, judo,
karate, grappling, brazilian jiu-jitsu, boxing and more. The
kickboxing department will be under supervision of Milton Felter and
Mike Polanen, long-time trainers of world champions such as Marco
Pique, Germaine de Randamie and Brian Lo-an-Joe. Felter and Polanen
are also promoters of the well known Slamm events.
The new M-1 training center will also serve as the home gym for Fedor
Emelianenko during his Holland visits. Emelianenko often vists Holland
in order to train with K-1 veterans like Ernesto Hoost and Jerrel
Venetiaan.

Niet echt mijn ding hier denk ik, trouwens appy ziet er goed fout uit in zijn affliction spijkerpak :D

Waren er op een dinsdagavond en toen waren er vooral de staande trainingen. Zoals gezegd gaan we binnenkort weer langs voor foto's van de MMA trainingen. Waarschijnlijk een woensdag om twee uur MMA en nog een uurtje sparren vast te leggen.
