Zondagavond 21 juni is het Team Slamm!! met vechters Marco Pique, Mosab Amrani en Rayen Simson aangekomen in Montego Bay, Jamaica. Momenteel verblijven we nog in het Hilton maar aanstaande woensdag pakken we over naar een luxer verblijf dichter bij het stadium. De eerste trainingen zullen in de namiddag van de 22ste plaats gaan vinden en daarna zullen de foto's van de afgelopen twee dagen verschijnen. Mixfight.nl is wederom exclusief aanwezig voor een uitgebreid verslag van een gala wat internationaal toch wel gezien word als de beste Muay Thai Event in jaren! Gezien de onderstaande line-up een voorzichtig statement;

Zondag vertrokken en na een lange vlucht kwam het team aan in Montego Bay. Tijdens de tussenstop even Miami in geweest (ook geen straf) en daarna met het Engelse team (Harrison & Kitchen) en JWP uit Australie doorgereisd naar Jamaica...

Zondagnacht kwam het Team Slamm!! aan in Montego Bay, waar we in het Hilton (Rose Hall) verblijven. Alle vechters komen langzaam binnen druppelen en het word hier al aardig gezellig. Het weer is uiteraard meer dan goed te noemen hier en de eerste training is inmiddels al afgewerkt.

Voordat er getraind werd was er nog veel ruimte voor ontspanning. Vandaag nog even naar Montego Bay geweest en daarna weer lekker naar het hotel voor een heerlijke maaltijd....

Ook zijn Pique (hoorde het tijdens de vlucht, tussenstop in Miami) en Simson vader geworden van een zoon en dochter. Pique's vriendin is bevallen van Trice en Simson heeft er een dochter bij genaamd Liv.

Na de eerste training van gistern (de foto's daarvan zal ik samenvoegen met de training van vandaag zijn de eerste interviews afgenomen tbv het PPV program. De sfeer hier is uiterst relaxed te noemen.

Ben nog even bezig met de foto's van de training van vanmorgen en gisteren maar als ik Rayen zo aan het werk zie gaat die Ekkelboom het echt moeilijk krijgen! Rayen is er eigenlijk al helemaal klaar voor!

Slamm!! heeft de eerste trainingen achter de rug en de vechters zitten goed in hun vel op dit moment. Iedereen is goed in vorm en de spanning word langzamerhand groter naarmate we de vrijdag naderen;

Valt wel mee Roy. Er lopen ook meer donkere vechters hier rond. Cosmo Alexander is aanwezig en ook onze grote vriend Patrice Quateron is present. Ben alweer bezig met een nieuwe serie foto's Roy. We zijn inmiddels overgepakt naar het Ibero Star Resort.

Thanks, maar we zijn toch één en dezelfde persoon al zou ik graag wel eens op meerdere plaatsen tegelijk willen zijn. Gisteren zijn de vechters nog even downtown Montego ingeweest en is er nog hard getraind die avond. Vanmorgen hebben de vechters de laatste training afgewerkt en de voorbereidingen voor het gala zijn in volle gang (die foto's volgen later). Vandaag zijn we overgepakt naar het Ibero Star Resort waar Spong en de heren van Black Label al verbleven. Hier is het echt geweldig en na de laatste training van vanmorgen kunnen de vechters nog een twee dagen uitrusten voor hun partij!

Bij deze de serie: een dagje Montego Bay, even terug naar het Ritz Carlton voor wat oude herrineringen op te halen en nog de avondsessie;

Inmiddels zijn we overgepakt naar het Ibero Star Resort en die plek is wederom gruwelijk. Heb net van onze privebutler Mitchel een Mojito bezorgd gekregen en de kamers zijn uitzonderlijk goed! Woensdagmorgen ben ik alvast even naar de Arena gelopen waar de voorbereidingen in volle gang waren. Rayen en Marco hebben nog een training afgewerkt en nu is het wachten op de weging;

Beetje heel erg voorbarige conclusie aan de hand van een foto! Alle vechters verblijven in hetzelfde hotel dus iedereen word met iedereen gezien. Spong trekt inderdaad veel op met de vechters van Slamm!!, maar hij valt gewoon onder het management van Black Label Fighting.

Is het mogelijk korte interviewtjes/anekdotes erbij te doen? Aangezien je de jongens vast dagelijks spreekt.

Stel dat je een fotoverslag maakt, is het mogelijk om de uitslagen na je foto's te zetten? Zodoende kunnen wij achterblijvers eerst je ongetwijfeld nette serie bekijken van een partij en dan aan de hand van de foto's een beeld vormen.

Zien we daarna of ons "beeld" de juiste was aangezien de daadwerkelijke uitslag eronder staat.

Zo niet geen punt, in ieder geval bedankt voor jullie aanwezigheid als Mixfight, waardeer ik in ieder geval wel als regelmatige bezoeker.

En natuurlijk ook voor jou als fotograaf een mooi gala gewenst!

Spreek de vechters dagelijks Danny en ik zal proberen om er na de tijd een leuk verhaal van te maken als een soort van samenvatting, als ik wat meer tijd heb. Heb zojuist (half 4, NL time) de foto's van de weging geplaatst en morgenavond 20:00 is het tijd! Mosab Amrani zal morgen het spirts gaan afbuiten. Zaterdag komen alle foto's van de partijen met verslag erbij online!

Omdat het een absolute vakman is! Hij traint Marco al geruime tijd.

Gistermiddag was nog de weging waarvan de foto's al op Mixfight en K1fans staan, maar had nog een aantal foto's geschoten in de lobby van het Ibero Star Resort waarvanuit de vechters naar het Ritz vertrokken;

Paulo "Paco" Tocha; één van de scheidsrechters vanavond. Ook de hoofdofficial van het Lumpini is aanwezig om ervoor te zorgen dat de uitslagen zo eerlijk mogelijk zullen zijn.

Carbin is gewoon aanwezig om Tyrone te coachen. Hij verblijft volgens mij in het hotel naast ons. Heb hem eingelijk alleen gezien bij de weging. Omtrent WIN heb ik geen ervaringen en ik weet alleen dat het bedrijf Marco Pique van voedingssupplimenten voorziet en dat zijn relatie met het bedrijf goed is.

Ja ik weet dat hij goed is, want ik heb zelf met hem vroeger bij Mejiro Gym getraind (in de tijd van Jan Plas, Kaman, El Guebli, Van den Berg, etc.). Hoog wedstrijdtempo had die jongen.
Ik wist niet dat hij Pique 'deed'. Wel dat hij Andy Souwer traint. (op de foto heeft Paul een AS broekje aan ;) )

Ja! Heb echt respect voor deze man gekregen in de week dat ik hem hier bezig zag. Vorig jaar was het al een beuker van een partij tegenover Kaoklai en nu was de re-match, omdat hij vond dat hij toen onterecht had verloren. Hij heeft zich hiervoor 2 maanden voorbereid in het Por. Pramuk kamp in Thailand en heeft nog het gala grotendeels georganiseerd! Vind het echt knap dat hij de partij zo heeft kunnen omkeren (WOP), terwijl hij in de eerste ronde behoorlijk aan was en 8 tellen kreeg, terwijl de druk van de miljoenenkostende productie van dit gala ook nog op zijn schouders lagen! Pas tijdens de afterparty kwam hij los, maar hij vertelde me dat het pas voorbij is als alle vechters in het vliegtuig naar huis zitten en hun checks verzilverd zijn.
