FIGHTCLUB presents SLAMM!! - NEW GENERATION

Club Marcanti was afgelopen zondag het toneel voor de nieuwe generatie vechters om hun kunsten te vertonen. En deze kans werd door de jonge vechters met beide handen gegrepen. Nieuwelingpartijen gemengd met C-, B- en A-klasse partijen en dat allemaal voor de camera's van Eurosport dat dit gala zal uitzenden in het bekende programma Fightclub. Zonder uitzondering brachten de partijen het spektakel waar de vechtsportliefhebbers voor kwamen!

Marcanti, top locatie!

Slamm!! Events heeft een exclusieve deal met Club Marcanti om daar als thaibokspromotor gala's te hosten. Na een zeer geslaagde vorige editie (Slamm!! "Back to the Oldskool") ziet de locatie er ook dit keer weer strak uit. De naam "New Generation" is niet toevallig gekozen; vechters als Kane, Hisken, Tavares, Bradock en Schadenberg krijgen hier de exposure die ze verdienen. Naast deze A-klasse vechters staan er zoals gezegd vele C- en B- klasse vechters op het programma en dat in een Marcanti waar een geweldige sfeer heerst! Vechters worden luid aangemoedigd door het publiek en de vechters weten op hun beurt het publiek op uitstekende wijze te bespelen. Zo komt Sergio Pique - de ruim 40kg zwaardere broer van Marco Pique - op met team Slamm en opzwepende caraibische(?) muziek. Teamgenoot Kuku Victor gaat uit zijn dak en danst alsware hij zelf moet vechten. Hij heeft er zichtbaar lol in. Sergio straalt van zelfvertrouwen en niet geheel onterecht, zo blijkt wanneer hij zijn tegenstander Gert Dijkman al snel op (t)ko verslaat. Even lijkt de scheidsrechter roet in het eten te gooien wanneer hij de microfoon pakt. Hij zegt dat hij Sergio alsnog kan diskwalificeren vanwege het feit dat er teveel mensen in zijn hoek staan. Gelukkig komt het niet zover en wijst hij de terechte winnaar aan: Sergio Pique.

De sfeer die er heerst heeft wel wat weg van de Shooto-gala's; een relaxte en sportieve sfeer, maar dan in een strak ingerichte club. De rondemiss heeft het ook zichtbaar naar haar zin; hoewel ze schaars gekleed pas tijdens de A-klasse partijen de rondes zal weergeven, zie ik haar de hele avond al sexy dansend op de luide muziek. Als ik om me heen kijk zie ik dat ik niet de enige ben die deze fraaie verschijning heeft opgemerkt. Maar goed, dit natuurlijk geheel terzijde, want hier zijn we niet voor gekomen... We zijn hier voor de gevechten en die zijn goed! Stefano Boadi van Team Petres waarvan me de naam is ontschoten vecht een harde partij tegen de sterk boksende vechter van Mike's Gym, Aaron Wrighting. Op het moment dat ik wegdraai om iets te zeggen tegen mijn buurman, hoor ik een klap en kijk onmiddelijk om. Boadi is hard geraakt en ik zie dat hij als een gevelde boom naar het canvas gaat. Het is geen fraai gezicht en het duurt een tijdje voordat hij weer bij kennis is. Als hij dan weer opstaat trakteert het publiek deze vechter op een luid applaus. Het is tekenend voor de sportieve sfeer die er heerst.

Anthony Kane vecht tegen een pupil van Harinck, Cedric Burgzorg. Voor de partij geeft de ringspeaker aan dat Kane de partij opdraagt aan de pasgeborene van Marco Pique. Dat belooft veel goeds! En inderdaad, Kane gaat er vol in!! Cedric weet er in eerste instantie geen raad mee en gaat neer. Kane beschikt over een goedwerkend reukorgaan en ruikt bloed. Onmiddelijk nadat de scheidsrechter het teken geeft gaat hij weer vol in de aanval. Weer scoort hij 8 tellen. Het publiek lijkt - net als ik - ervan uit te gaan dat het gedaan is met Cedric, maar deze heeft andere plannen! Burgzorg ziet kennelijk dat de acties in de eerste ronde Kane veel energie hebben gekost en neemt het initiatief over. De achterstand weet hij niet meer weg te werken, maar hij maakt er in de tweede en derde ronde een meer gelijkopgaande strijd van. Kane wint de partij mijns inziens terecht op punten en heeft alles gegeven. Beide vechters kunnen rekenen op een luid applaus van het aanwezige publiek. Na afloop van de partij vraagt Kane de microfoon en maant het publiek tot stilte. Hij heeft wat te vertellen. "Ik wilde even zeggen dat van al mijn tegenstanders, Cedric de hardste is geweest!" Inderdaad, Cedric beschikt over een incasserings- en doorzettingsvermogen waar je u tegen zegt en waar menig kickbokser bovendien jaloers op zal zijn.

Thriller tussen Anthony Kane VS Cedric Burgzorg

De voor Angelo Gym (Glanerbrug) vechtende Remco Hisken is onlangs overgestapt naar de A-klasse. Hij komt op met Nederlandse muziek en het publiek kan dit waarderen. Zijn tegenstander Wilson Tavares komt wat meer uit de buurt en dat is duidelijk te merken aan de reactie die hij krijgt bij opkomst! Remco scoort met zijn trappen, terwijl Tavares het met stoten probeert op te lossen. Dat hij gevaarlijk is met stoten blijkt wel wanneer hij Remco raakt en hem een bloedneus bezorgt. Remco lijkt hier niet van onder de indruk, maar een gewaarschuwd man telt voor twee. Hisken heeft zijn dekking verder goed op orde en scoort met harde lowkicks; zijn strategie is duidelijk. Hij weet de partij uiteindelijk te winnen door opgave van Tavares; de lowkicks hebben teveel schade aangericht. Een prachtige partij van twee toppers!

De verschillende B-, C- en nieuwelingenpartijen hebben ook voor het nodige spektakel gezorgd, waarbij het regelmatig leek alsof we naar een A-klasse partij zaten te kijken. Een goed voorbeeld hiervan is de partij tussen Gullermo Valpoort en Neder Farhou (Farhou wint de UMC jeugdtitel).

De zware jongens zorgen voor een mooie afsluiter; Anderson 'Bradock' Silva vs Andy Schadenberg. De partij is redelijk gelijk opgaand en een waardige afsluiter van een mooie avond. Silva wint de partij op punten.

Het gala dat met ongeveer 22 partijen toch een aardig vol programma kende, was rond 23.00u afgelopen en dus op een schappelijke tijd. De sfeer die in Marcanti heerste in combinatie met de fraaie partijen zorgen ervoor dat het gala een succes mag worden genoemd. We willen de organisatie bedanken voor de gastvrijheid, en de goede zorg. We hebben ons uitstekend vermaakt en zijn er een volgende keer graag weer bij!
