Canan Yorulmaz 2nd place and Spirit price on WC Kyokushinkai Osaka, Japan.
Osaka | Japan, 28-06-2009, 17:00 hrs
Today Canan attended her first World-tournament ever. Although she has an impressive resume concering fighting, this was a goal for almost 5 years now. Normally in a tournament Canan can decide a fight within a minute this tournament she had to go all the way and fight each time over the full rounds.
Her first oppponent came from China, the Chinese team was the best team of the tournament and Canan got one of the thoughest of the team.
After evaluation by her trainer / coach Bart Dooremalen (La Sala, Tilburg) tactics were changed and the second round one of the Japanese girls couldn`t withstand Canan`s strong punching but stood tall and survived but Canan clearly won the fight. The third fight was against a Hungarian girl, the Hungarian girl gave a good fight and again the victory was on Canan`s side. In the final the last opponent was a Japanese girl although the fight was pretty close but the Japanese got the better end of the decision and Canan got second.
Besides this the board of Japanese shihans (grandmasters) decided Canan also got the spiritprize for fighter with the best spirit.
Canan and her team learned a lot from this tournament and it`s their goal to visit Shangai (China) and Japan in the very near future for coming tournaments!
