K-1 has added five non-tournament fights to the K-1 Grand Prix Finals card.
The two reserve fights have been announced, and it is the fights we reported on as being rumored earlier this fall. In reserve #1 it will be Peter Aerts v. Gokhan Saki, and reserve fight #2 will be Daniel Ghita v. Chalid Die Faust. Aerts v. Saki is a very intriguing match-up - a tough test for Saki to get back in his groove after a miserable 2009, but a fight that he has a shot in. It also opens the door for Aerts to get back into the GP and continue his streak of participating in every GP since the company's inception. The second fight looks to build Ghita back up after a loss to Schilt, giving him a decent name, but a relatively easy win.
A very well-matched superfight will see Kyotaro v. Tyrone Spong. This will be Spong's first fight training under Ernesto Hoost, and like Saki, will give him a chance to get back on track after a pair of tough losses this year. I feel that we have not yet seen what Spong is capable of in the K-1 ranks, and while Kyotaro is a very tough opponent, this should answer some questions about both men.
Rounding out the card is Jan Soukup v. Tsutomu Takahagi and Keiichi Samukawa v. Ryuji Kajiwara in a 60 kg fight. These are both listed as opening fights, so may not end up on the main card.
In other GP news, K-1 has launched their special site for the event. So far there's not a ton of content, but I'm sure there will be much added as the event draws closer.
