ONE FC 3: Renato Sobral vs Melvin Mahoef 31 maart

ONE Fighting Championship held its eagerly anticipated press conference in Singapore this morning and the big news was that the March 31st card at the Singapore Indoor Stadium would be headlined by a fight between Renato 'Babalu' Sobral and Melvin Manhoef.

The co main event will see Kevin Belingon put his undefeated record on the line against Japanese veteran Masakazu Imanari. The Filipino is 9-0 in professional MMA and has fought against good level opponents outside of the Philippines but he has never faced anyone of the calibre or experience of 'The Master of Leglocks' who has fought 36 times in his 12 year career.

Also on the card will be Eduard Folayang, Zorobabel Moreira, Eddie Ng and a female Singaporean fighter called Nicole Chua who will be making her MMA debut. Their opponents will be revealed at a later date but the Singapore card already looks set to be the best yet by ONE FC.

Slechte matchup voor Melvin Manhoef. Ik denk dat Babalu het af zal maken met een mooie submission in de eerste ronde.

Deze moet hij wel kunnen hebben. Sobral is overrated naar mijn mening. Slaat ook al jaren geen deuk in een pakje boter.

Ligt er vooral aan of Babalu hem op de grond kan krijgen. IK denk dat Melvin het wel moet kunnen hebben als hij net zo agressief begint als anders. Babalu heeft geen flinke kin en wordt vaak in de eerste ronde geKO'ed. Ga zeker kijken, maar denk als Melvin deze verliest hij beter kan stoppen.

Manhoef kan hem zeker hebben. Maar hoe je het ook wend of keert, Babalu is een blackbelt... die rolt je prima op op de grond.

Altijd weer leuk om Melvin een MMA partij te zien doen. Ik denk dat Melvin deze op KO gaat winnen.

Een typische striker vs bjj match. Blijft het staand, dan wint Manhoef op KO. Gaat het naar de grond, dan submit Babalu hem binnen no-time.

Tatsuya Kawajiri to Fight at ONE FC 3 on March 31

Tatsuya Kawajiri will compete outside of Japan for only the second time of his career when he fights at ONE FC 3 on March 31 in Singapore.

ONE FC recently announced his participation on the card. Kawajiri's last appearance outside of Japan was a loss to Gilbert Melendez at Strikeforce: Diaz vs. Daley in April 2011.

The 33-year-old Kawajiri (30-7-2) has won his last three fights against Drew Fickett, Joachim Hansen and Kazuyuki Miyata. He made the drop to featherweight in September and is twice unbeaten in the division. Kawajiri appears on the ONE FC card courtesy of a talent exchange program between ONE FC and DREAM.

The two confirmed matchups on the ONE FC 3 card so far are Masakazu Imanari vs. Kevin Belingon and Eduard Folayang vs. Ole Laursen. Confirmed participants on the card include Ray Elbe, Eddie Ng, Zorobabel Moreira and Nicole Chua.

The previously slated main event with Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Melvin Manhoef is unlikely to happen. Sobral has since signed to fight Steve Bosse for Canada's Instinct promotion in May
