Dana White: Randy Couture (not Chuck Liddell) vs Rich Franklin at UFC 115 in Vancouver

Former UFC middleweight champion Rich Franklin (25-5) will not face Chuck Liddell (21-7) at UFC 115 on June 12 in Vancouver despite numerous reports that surfaced earlier today.

On the contrary, "Ace" will headline the show opposite former heavyweight and light heavyweight champion, Randy Couture, in a 205-pound showdown, according to UFC President Dana White.

In addition, White assured fans that "nothing happened to Tito" and the he and the "Huntington Beach Bad Boy" are still "cool," indicating that he is still set to battle nemesis Chuck Liddell as planned at the conclusion of The Ultimate Fighter (TUF) 11.

Dana White moves quick to deny rumours surrounding Liddell and Ortiz

UFC President, Dana White has moved quickly to squash the rumour of the day which suggested that Chuck Liddell would face Rich Franklin in June and not Tito Ortiz as expected.
Posting via his Twitter page earlier today, Dana said:

“Not true! We are doing couture vs franklin, not chuck. Nothing happened to tito. Tito and I are cool.”

a source close to “The Iceman” earlier tonight who suggested that despite Dana’s recent remarks there is something amiss with the whole situation regarding Chuck and Tito. Stay tuned in the coming days for more on this one.

One thing we did clear up however was that “Hall of Famer” Randy Couture will be taking on Rich Franklin in the near future, possibly headlining the event in Boston Massachusetts at the end of August. It seems “The Natural’s” hunch that he’d be the man to face James “Light’s Out” Toney turned out to be as false as a certain British MMA magazine’s report earlier today.

A bad case of flu sees Tito Ortiz hospitalised, fight with Liddell could still go down in June

More has emerged on the current condition of former UFC light heavyweight champion, Tito Ortiz, with the man himself revealing that he’s holed up in hospital on IV’s in an attempt to battle a serious case of the flu.

Speaking via his Twitter page, Ortiz said:

“This is the worst flu I have ever had. More IV’s please. Sorry flu. This sucks!!”

With three months to go until Ortiz is supposed to meet long time nemesis, Chuck Liddell at UFC 115 in Vancouver, Canada it appears more than likely if a speedy recovery is made the fight will still go down as expected. .

Jenna Jameson, the wife of Ortiz, posted today via her Twitter page:

“My heart is with @titoortiz right now. I know being in the hospital is rough, your family is here loving you.I will always have your back…”

“I have a lot of blessings… but, today is one of the hardest days of my life…”
