UFC 117 bonuses and awards for 'Silva vs Sonnen' PPV fights

UFC 117: "Silva vs. Sonnen" from the Oracle Arena in Oakland, California, has officially wrapped, which means that it’s time for those select fighters who went above and beyond in their respective fights to get a little extra grease for their efforts.
To the tune of $60,000 each.
The promotion dished out its standard post-fight monetary bonuses to four out of the 22 fighters on the card, and it's probably no surprise who's leaving "Oaktown" with second sack of simoleons.
In addition to their base salaries, the UFC awarded middleweight competitors Anderson Silva and Chael Sonnen "Fight of the Night" for their four-and-a-half rounds of action that saw "The Spider" endure a 20-minute ass kicking only to pull off a miraculous fifth round submission to steal the win.
And the choke that had Sonnen crying "uncle" was good enough to net the Brazilian a second bonus as his triangle qualified him for "Submission of the Night."
Also tapping his way to the bank was former welterweight champion Matt Hughes, who had Ricardo Almeida counting sheep just three minutes into the opening stanza. The captain of the H.I.T. Squad put the Gracie disciple on his keister with a left hook and followed it up with an unholy union of arm and neck.
Cha-ching.
In preliminary action, Stefan Struve got back to his winning ways with a bone-crunching knockout of Christian Morecraft that invested an additional sixty-grand into the "Skyscraper."

Fight of the Night — Anderson Silva vs. Chael Sonnen
Submission of the Night — Anderson Silva and Matt Hughes
Knockout of the Night — Stefan Struve

Again, each fighter received $60,000 extra for their performances in addition to their respective base salaries, which we will pass along as soon as possible.

Submission of the night is terecht... Hughes met een dikke sub
KO of the night voor Struve... absoluut prima. Mooie comeback.

Mooi voor Struve! weer top gedaan, tussen de eerste en tweede ronde in hoor je hem zeggen dat hij bijna flauwvalt en dan binnen 20 seconden zo een dikke KO!

Silva zal al niet te weinig krijgen maar 2 bonussen er op.
Die heeft dik verdient voor zijn 5 rondes klappen beuren, maar wel gewonnen

Ik ben alleen van mening dat hij elke wedstrijd te veel klappen op zijn kop krijgt.....

Silva-Sonnen, wat zal ik er van zeggen, best mogelijke uitkomst die er kon zijn, Silva heeft weer een beetje nederigheid bij en Sonnen niet gewonnen

vindt ik ook, het is elke keer maar net aan en pas één partij in de UFC heeft hij overtuigend gewonnen en dat was tegen Chase Gomley.
Hoop dat hij in zijn volgende pot een overtuigende partij neerzet...

Ben trouwens ook benieuwd wie de volgende tegenstander wordt voor Struve, Misschien wel Schaub of Duffee
