ik denk het niet , ik hoop dat shogun wint via een zware KO want shogun is een topvechter en ik mag evans niet echt maar evans is een goede worstelaar & Shogun staat niet bepaald bekend voor zijn takedown defence. Ik denk ook niet dat Shogun hem zal subben.
Nogmaals ik hoop Shogun via zware KO maar ik durf er geen geld op te zetten!

Dit gevecht zou zo maar op een decision kunnen eindigen. Ik vind Shogun echt een geweldige vechter en hij is de terechte champ. Maar Evans is zeer gevaarlijk en ondanks dat de meeste Evans niet mogen, mag ik hem juist weer wel. Zeer sympathieke gast die nog goed kan knokken ook. Hij is niet zo allround als Shogun, maar ik denk wel dat het een zeer gave partij wordt.

Ik denk eerlijk gezegd ook wel dat Rashad een kans maakt, wel een mooie pot!

Ik denk wel dat iedereen Rashad een beetje onderschat. Oke Shogun is een grootheid en een geweldige vechter, maar ik denk dat Rashad goed tegenstand kan bieden.

Ik denk dat Shogun beter kan dan wat Thiago Silva heeft gedaan. Dus ik zie een goeie kans dat Evans KO gaat, maar Rashad is niet kansloos.

Op punten wint Evans dit by a landslide, puur op takedowns en controleren.
Maar de kans is groter dat Shogun hem voor die tijd KO slaat.
Maar nogmaals, Evans kan dit zeker winnen.

hoewel ik ze beide goede vechters vind... is shogun toch echt mijn favoriet!

normaal gesproken zou ik zonder twijfel kiezen voor shogun op ko... alleen waar ik bang voor ben is dat shogun weer bagger presteert na zijn blessure.
we hebben shogun al eens vaker moeite zien hebben met sterk terugkomen na blessures. meestal heeft hij 1 partij nodig om er weer in te komen. hopelijk is dat nu anders

Het enige wat Shogun hoeft te doen is heel goed trainen om weer op te kunnen staan als Evans hem neerhaald. En dat kan hij normaal gesproken ook al uitstekend. Ik kan me geen enkel partij herinneren waarin hij totaal werd overklast op de grond. En wat Evans ook zal doen is hem tegen de kooi aandrukken maar daar zal hij ook niets mee bereiken.
Ik geef Rashad weinig kans.

Ricardo Almeida vs. Mike Pyle Targeted for UFC 128

A welterweight bout between local favorite Ricardo Almeida and Mike Pyle is slated for UFC 128 in Newark, NJ, MMA Fighting learned through sources close to the fight.

UFC 128 is expected to take place March 19 at the Prudential Center, headlined by Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Rashad Evans for the UFC light heavyweight title.

Pyle, 20-7-1, is coming off arguably the biggest win of his career at UFC 120 against John Hathaway. The win improved the MMA veteran's Octagon record to 3-2.

Meanwhile, Almeida, who fights out of Hamilton, NJ, rebounded from his first-round loss to Matt Hughes in August to defeat TJ Grant via unanimous decision at UFC 124 earlier this month. The 13-4 fighter has won 4 of his last 5 bouts.

MMA Weekly first reported the news of the bout on Saturday.

The 170-pound bout is expected to take place on the pay-per-view portion of the card.

Urijah Faber vs Eddie Wineland

Former WEC champions Urijah Faber and Eddie Wineland are expected to square off in their UFC debuts at “UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans” on March 19 in Newark, New Jersey, according to MMAFighting.com, with the winner likely to earn a shot at Dominick Cruz’s bantamweight title.
Faber (24-4) choked out Takeya Mizugaki in his 135-pound debut in November after the former featherweight champ dropped 3 of his last 5 at 145-pounds, while Wineland (18-6-1) scored a first-round slam KO of Ken Stone earlier this month for his fourth-straight win.
The matchup rules Faber out as a potential coach for The Ultimate Fighter 13 opposite Cruz, leaving Frank Mir and Brock Lesnar as the most-likely option.
The UFC 128 fight card is headlined by light heavyweight champ Mauricio “Shogun” Rua vs. former title-holder Rashad Evans and also includes Brendan Schaub vs. Mirko Cro Cop.

UFC 128 gets three more contests, including Joseph Benavidez vs. Ian Loveland

With the UFC's return to New Jersey official, the promotion is wasting little time filling out the night's fight card.

UFC brass initially announced "UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans" would feature Mauricio "Shogun" Rua vs. Rashad Evans and Urijah Faber vs. Eddie Wineland.

The UFC has since upped the ante with the release of previously reported contests of Kurt Pellegrino vs. Gleison Tibau and Edson Barboza vs. Anthony Njokuani, as well as a new fight between Joseph Benavidez and Ian Loveland.

"UFC 128: Shogun vs. Evans" takes place March 19 at Prudential Center in Newark, N.J.

Pellegrino (15-5 MMA, 7-4 UFC) recently saw a four-fight win streak snapped with a unanimous-decision loss to George Sotiropoulos back in July. Prior to the loss, Pellegrino, who's been sidelined by his recovery from knee surgery, posted submission wins over Rob Emerson and Fabricio Camoes and decision victories over Thiago Tavares and Josh Neer.

Tibau (21-7 MMA, 7-5 UFC) entered the title picture with a recent 4-1 run in the UFC that saw wins over the likes of Jeremy Stephens, Caol Uno and Neer. But in his most recent bout at UFC Fight Night 22, the American Top Team product suffered a decision loss to division standout Jim Miller.

Barboza (7-0 MMA, 1-0 UFC) burst on to the UFC scene at November's "UFC 123: Rampage vs. Machida." The 24-year-old used a devastating arsenal of low kicks to chop down replacement opponent Mike Lullo. After dropping his opponent a handful of times with the vicious low attacks, Barboza was granted a third-round TKO win in the preliminary bout.

The win was Barboza's seventh straight victory to open his career, and all seven wins have come via stoppage.

Njokuani (13-4 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his first appearance in the UFC's octagon after fighting seven times for the promotion's recently merged sister organization, the WEC. A striking specialist, Njokuani earned four wins for the WEC, and all four came via TKO.

Njokuani fought most recently at "WEC 52: Faber vs. Mizugaki," where he earned a second-round TKO of Edward Faaloloto with a vicious standing elbow strike.

Benavidez (13-2 MMA, 0-0 UFC) makes his UFC debut after a seven-fight run in the WEC. The Team Alpha Male fighter earned a 5-2 mark in the WEC's bantamweight division, and his lone losses came against the UFC's first 135-pound champion, Dominick Cruz.

Benavidez fought most recently in November when he earned a submission win over Wagnney Fabiano.

Loveland (14-7 MMA, 1-0 UFC) made his UFC debut with a unanimous-decision win over WEC import Tyler Toner. "The Barn Owl" currently carries a seven-fight win streak. A three-time veteran of the now-defunct International Fight League, Loveland has earned 12 of his 14 career wins via stoppage.
