UFC President, Dana White has taken a step towards pitting middleweights, Chael Sonnen and Wanderlei Silva against each other on the forth coming season of “The Ultimate Fighter” after revealing the California State Athletic Commission will not stand in the way of the Team Quest front man starring on the reality show.
Speaking today at the UFC 124 pre-fight press conference, Dana said:
“He could coach ‘The Ultimate Fighter.’ Absolutely.”
“I’ve literally been on the road for so long now. I go home Sunday, and then I leave again Monday. I go on the road for another week. There’s a lot of things I haven’t dealt with. I haven’t looked at that thing at all, and now we have to figure out what we do with Chael. I guess the good part is that he got a six-month suspension. I was expecting a year. I have not come anywhere close to picking the coaches of ‘The Ultimate Fighter’ yet.”
When asked what he thought about Sonnen’s argument during his hearing last week, Dana said:
“To be 100 percent honest with you, I haven’t heard anything about the Sonnen case. (UFC vice president) Marc Ratner was down there with him. But if you’re sitting here telling me that Chael said some crazy [expletive] down there that doesn’t make sense, it doesn’t shock me. I don’t know. It’s just one of those things that it’s a difficult situation. Now it is what it is.”

Ik zie het wel zitten, de 2 mogen elkaar ook niet echt zo lijkt het. Alhoewel ik benieuwd ben of Chael nu wel z'n muil open trekt want in busje was hij opvallend stil hahaha. Maar goed een heel seizoen, Chael.... ik weet niet of iemand dat aan kan.. :P

Met Sonnen wordt het wel interessante tv, denk alleen niet dat men Silva als coach zal nemen want dan loopt er constant een tolk in beeld. Lijkt mij weinig kans op leuke confrontaties met zo'n tolk.

lijkt me wel leuk dat hij dan bob schreiber meeneemt als trainer en die gasten tot het gaatje laat gaan

ipv hem te straffen voor wat hij gedaan heeft krijgt hij juist de kans om zijn rotkop in de 6 maanden dat hij geschorst is te showen in TUF

anyway... eerlijk gezegd wil ik brock ook niet als coach zien... hij moet zelf nog een hele hoop leren laat staan anderen coachen.

ik zat net te denken maar wat dachten jullie van chael vs rampage.. chael sprak nog wat trash vorige keer vlak voor evans vs rampage. rampage is ook wel iemand die meetrasht. ik zou het wel dik vinden en mooie tv en daarna op catchweight(195) tegenmekaar

Nee geen Rampage meer. Hij is een vreselijke coach. Ik mag hem graag, een van mijn favorieten, maar hij kan ze niks leren.

Chael Silva lijkt mij dan mooier. Hoewel ik niet denk dat het kan omdat de rematch niet zo ver is.

Ik denk dat je beter de oudere vechters kan laten coachen zoals ze Liddel hadden laten coachen. Deze hebben immers de meeste ervaring op hun naam.

The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale is June 4; door opened for Edgar-Maynard as coaches?

The upcoming 13th season of "The Ultimate Fighter" debuts March 30 on Spike TV, and a source close to the show today told MMAjunkie.com that The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale is slated for June 4.

The event takes place at The Pearl at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas and airs live on Spike TV.

Although no coaches have been named, the date would allow for UFC lightweight champion Frankie Edgar and top contender Gray Maynard, who could be part of UFC 131 in June, to meet in a season-ending fight.

UFC officials will announce the coaches later today during a media call, but they and other industry insiders have been tight-lipped about the names. Edgar and Maynard have emerged as possible candidates, though rumored coaches have included everyone from Dominick Cruz to Urijah Faber to Chael Sonnen to Wanderlei Silva to Brock Lesnar to Frank Mir to Jose Aldo.

If Edgar and Maynard, who recently fought to a draw in the UFC 125 headliner, do end up fighting again at UFC 131, the timing would work out perfectly for "TUF" head-coaching stints and a season-ending fight. The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale takes place June 4, and as MMAjunkie.com first reported Monday, UFC 131 tentatively is slotted for a week later, June 14, at Vancouver's Rogers Arena.

"TUF 13," which begins production this month in Las Vegas, is a welterweights-only season of a reality series that first debuted in 2005.

Regardless of the coaches, UFC 130 (May 28), The Ultimate Fighter 13 Finale and UFC 131 means the UFC is expected to host shows on three consecutive Saturdays.

In any manner, stay tuned to MMAjunkie.com at approximately 5:30 p.m. ET (2:30 p.m. PT) for official confirmation of the "TUF 13" coaches.

ik denk dat het LHW coaches worden, ze doen (op de eerste paar TUF's na) steeds couches van zelfde of gewichts klasse hoger.
ben benieuwd wie het zijn....
