June 3 Special Sports Amstelveen, in co-operation with Mixfight organized a seminar with Fedor Emelianenko. Remco Pardoel and Cyril Garcia joined forces and made it possible for fans to train alongside their idol. The seminar consisted of a stand-up part where Fedor explained the reasoning behind his particular stance, and then the training proceeded on the ground, where The Last Emperor focussed on leg submissions. Remco Pardoel was Fedor’s dummy, and the audience and the fighter himself were clearly enjoying themselves when Remco was in obvious agony.
After the seminar the fans had the opportunity to get a picture with their idol, and were given the choice to purchase merchandise. All profits made out of this seminar were sent to charities in Japan to aid the people after the last disaster that struck the country so badly.
