Anderson Silva's camp has made it abundantly clear over the last month that
they'd like to the UFC Middleweight Champion to face UFC Welterweight Georges
St-Pierre in a superfight in his next bout. The only problem with St-Pierre as
an opponent is he's got a bout set this November. Returning from knee surgery,
St-Pierre's going to have to get past Carlos Condit first.
Still, if that's what happens this fall,
St-Pierre would be very interested in a fight that's been discussed for a few
years now. In an interview with Mauro Ranallo on The MMA Show, GSP's head
trainer Firas Zahabi revealed that St-Pierre is up for the fight with Silva
should he defend his title again in November.
"Georges St-Pierre told me he wants [to fight Anderson Silva],"
Zahabi said. "But right now he has to get back on the horse and fight Carlos
Condit and be Champion again. He needs to keep focused."
"[If the Silva fight happens' ideally I'd like a catch weight.
I think it'd be more fair. If you fight at a catch weight, Silva won't be 20
pounds heavier. 177 or 178 pounds is much more fair."
