Former K-1 Fighter Ruslan Karaev Named in Multi-Million Dollar Painting Theft
The name Ruslan Karaev has been out of everyone’s mouth for some time now. Years ago, he was considered one of the top fighters in K-1, holding wins over some of the biggest names in the sport. We’ve heard very little about Karaev in recent years, but earlier today in Romania his name surfaced again, although most likely not in the way everyone was hoping.
In a multi-million dollar painting theft case, Karaev was recently named by Romanian Radu Dogaru, one of the alleged suspects, to currently be in possession of the four stolen paintings.
Dogaru himself was recently detained for his connection to an art robbery in the Dutch city of Rotterdam. He and his cohorts stand accused of stealing several paintings from the Kunsthal Museum, some priced in the millions of dollars. Monet and Picasso are among the artists’ whose work was taken.
When pressed, sources say Dogaru told prosecutors he had given the paintings to Karaev.
Karaev has so far not been arrested, nor has Dogaru’s story been confirmed. More information will follow as we receive it...........bron fightsportasia.com
