UFC on FOX 14 bonuses:

Anthony Johnson, Gegard Mousasi, Makwan Amirkhani and Kenny Robertson each earned $50,000 bonuses for their performances at Saturday’s UFC on FOX 14 event.

All four won “Performance of the Night” bonuses; no “Fight of the Night” was awarded.

Johnson (19-4 MMA, 10-4 UFC) was a decent-sized underdog against home favorite Alexander Gustafsson (16-3 MMA, 8-3 UFC), but he took it to “The Mauler” in a big way to get a first-round TKO stoppage. With the win, Johnson earned a light heavyweight title shot against champion Jon Jones.

Mousasi (36-5-2 MMA, 3-2 UFC) stopped Dan Henderson (30-13 MMA, 7-7 UFC) with a first-round TKO, though it was one that will be debated for a while by fans and analysts. Mousasi hit Henderson with a punch, Henderson fell, and Mousasi jumped on him to land a couple more. It appeared Henderson was going after a defensive takedown as the referee dove in to stop the bout, and Henderson said afterward the stoppage came too soon.

Amirkhani (11-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) put himself into UFC legend status with an eight-second knockout of Andy Ogle (9-6 MMA, 1-5 UFC) on the preliminary card. “The Machine” was making his UFC debut, and he got in and out in a hurry. He drilled Ogle with a flying knee, then pounced on him for some big shots on the ground. Eight seconds later, his night was over with one of the fastest stoppages in UFC history.

Robertson (15-3 MMA, 4-3 UFC) continued his solid run of late as he took out Sultan Aliev (13-2 MMA, 0-1 UFC) with a first-round knockout. The upset win gave him three straight and four of his past five and was his second UFC post-fight bonus.

UFC on FOX 14 took place at Tele2 Arena in Stockholm. The main card aired on FOX following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass.

Die stoppage was te vroeg natuurlijk maar geen twijfel dat Gegard hem binnen 5 seconde helemaal van de wereld had geslagen.
En die Rumble tering hey, dat wordt een mooie partij tegen Jones zo. Gus is natuurlijk een geweldige lichtvoetige vechter maar staat altijd open voor een stoot. En hij kreeg hem.

mooi dat Gegard gewonnen heeft, maar het was een belachelijke stoppage, haalt ook een beetje de glans van zo'n win af denk ik...

Hij zei zelf ook al dat hij inhield toen Hendo viel, hij was toch wel goed KO gegaan als hij die rechter er meteen op had geplaatst.

Het is dat Mousassi zo sportief is om bij de wat meer op leeftijd zijnde Hendo wat inhield. Hendo moet achteraf niet mopperen want Mousassi had hem echt helemaal KO kunnen slaan. Hij deed na zijn val en een stoot al vrijwel niks meer. Tien tellen gaat hij weer door.. tja, beetje goedkoop if u ask me..

Mousassi heeft sowieso 100% gewonnen hoewel het een beetje vroeg gestopt werd. Hij had het zo af kunnen maken.

Niemand pakt Jones, ook Rumble niet. Hij komt niet in zijn reach en als hij dat wel doet krijgt hij een vinger in zn oog.

Ik had echt niet verwacht dat johnson hem zo bruut zou afmaken zeg, sjonge jonge wat is hij toch gevaarlijk geworden.

En Mousasi's gevecht was geen early stoppage. Luister naar wat Gegard zegt tegen Rogan, toen Henderson's hooft tegen de kooi viel kon hij hem snoeihard stoten maar hij hield zich in(altijd sportief deze jongen). Daarom kon Hendo zo snel herstellen maar het is duidelijk te zien dat Mousasi hem zo'n 3 stoten met volle kracht bespaart. Gefeliciteerd Mousasi!

^ Dat inderdaad, en Mousasis G&P is prima in orde dus het was maar een kant opgegaan als het langer duurde.

Trouwens op 7:15, waarom Gustafson onder andere verloren heeft. Goed op ingespeeld van Johnson

Rumble maakte wel indruk. Maar zie hem niet van Jones winnen.

Raar dat Mousasi inhield. De ref bepaalt wanneer de partij over is, heb je alleen jezelf maar mee. Zou graag iets meer killer instinct van Mousasi willen zien. Blijft toch op momenten te veel nadenken in de ring.

Vond het ook raar/jammer dat Mousasi even pauzeerde, heeft mousasi volgens mij al een keer eerder gehad. Hiermee doet ie zichzelf tekort. UFC fans houden van een killer instinct zie hierboven

Anthony Johnson reacts to Jon Jones' tweet to Alexander Gustafsson. He isn't a fan of stepping on people when they're down.

Anthony Johnson secured the biggest win of his career, with an impressive first round finish at the main event of UFC on FOX 14. Right after victory though, Johnson had mixed emotions and felt bad after seeing his heartbroken opponent in Alexander Gustafsson react after the loss.

"Alex had a goal, and I felt really bad. I saw him crying, and I know how it is when you have a goal and something like this gets in the way," Johnson said about trying to console his opponent. "I guess I'm human. I just felt bad. He didn't reach his goal tonight, but I'm sure he will be back 10 times stronger on his next go around."

It was a stark contrast on how the UFC light heavyweight champ reacted after the fight. Shortly after Gustafsson's tough loss in his home country, Jon Jones sent out a tweet (which was deleted shortly after) to take a shot at his former rival.

While Anthony Johnson said that he has never had any personal problems with Jones, he made it clear that he isn't a fan of that statement, especially after such a devastating loss.

"This world is screwed up," Johnson said about Jones' tweet. "In my opinion, when somebody is down, people always wants to step on you and keep you down. No one really wants to help you up. That's why I think this world is screwed up."

"I don't know, man. Jon is who he is," he said. "He's got bigger things to worry about than Alex."

Johnson earned a UFC title shot with his efforts and says that when they face off in a few months, Jones will know that he is the "hardest puncher he's ever faced".

Ik zag al meteen dat gegard zich inhield, waar ik hem zeker credit voor geef dan is een soort vriend van hem hij zag dat het niet echt meer nodig was om helemaal los te gaan, het is werk maar is toch een sympatieke jongen ook met het gebaar naar het oog van dan.

Als ik het iemand gun is het mousasi hij is gewoon een relaxte kerel.

En Jones maakt er wel een gewoonte van om vechters na te trappen wanneer ze 'down' zijn he?! Eerst Cormier na hun gevecht en nu Gus. Je zou denken dat hij zich na zijn coke schandaal iets meer bescheiden zal gedragen maar nee hoor.

Tja, hij heeft vaak genoeg het tegenovergestelde geprobeert, maar dan noemen mensen dat fake. Ik waardeer dit soort reacties juist meer, en Cormier en Gus waren juist degene die begonnen met alle trash talk. Lekker voor ze, mischien kunnen Alex en Daniel samen uithuilen LOL.
