Ik niet i.i.g. Na een hele tijd niet gevochten te hebben komt Cain terug en wordt hij compleet verslagen. Dan mag je weer even terug richting de Rotwell's om jezelf omhoog te knokken.
Zo zet je de divisie op slot omdat de jongens eronder toch (bij wijze van spreken) voor niets vechten. Arlovski was niet indrukwekkend maar de cijfers liegen niet, die had toch minstens tegen Cain moeten vechten nu.

Fabricio Werdum will defend his UFC heavyweight title for the first time in a rematch against Cain Velasquez on Feb. 6, headlining UFC 196 in Las Vegas, and he’s looking to submit the American Kickboxing Academy product one more time.

"Vai Cavalo" dominated and tapped Velasquez to win the undisputed gold with a guillotine back in June, and predicts he’ll catch the former champion’s right arm when they meet again inside the Octagon.
"And now, just asking Cain Velasquez, be careful with the right arm, it’s my specialty," Werdum told Ariel Helwani on The MMA Hour. "Don’t come inside my guard, please, because, hey, be careful with the right arm."


Velasquez disappointed in the first fight in Mexico City, but "Vai Cavalo", who criticize those to claim he only beat Velasquez because of the high altitude, expects his opponent to come back better prepared in Las Vegas.

"The rematch, he (will) come very strong again," he said. "I think I have more confident this time. I think he come very good, for sure, 100 percent, but I beat him again, man. I’m not (cocky), you know, I’m just confident in my training. I’m confident in Kings MMA.


"I think it’s a good rematch, for sure. It’s the big show, but I don’t go inside the cage like ‘I lost this fight’. I visualize everything. When I go inside the cage, when I fight with him, and after that, the interview with Joe Rogan, I visualize everything. I have everything in my mind."

Fedor wordt algemeen gezien als GOAT. In dit topic wordt Cain door sommigen als GOAT gezien. Maar Cain is verslagen door Werdum die ook van Fedor heeft gewonnen. Is Werdum dan de GOAT? Tja, die is weer verslagen door Overeem. Die al 3 belts te pakken heeft. Is Overeem dan de GOAT? Misschien is hij dat wel geweest, met paardenvlees, dus niet echt. Maar als hij de winnaar van Cain-Werdum verslaat is hij voor mij wel de GOAT. Een met veel verliespartijen, maar zonder weerstand geen glans. Zonder fouten, geen verbeteringen. De enige die daar in potentie nog een stokje voor kan steken is mogelijk Fedor. Dus lastig verhaal wie de HW GOAT is.

Misha Cirkunov meets 205-pound newcomer Alex Nicholson at UFC 196 in Las Vegas

The UFC’s Super Bowl weekend card in Las Vegas continues to grow with the addition of a light heavyweight bout featuring a promotional newcomer.

Misha Cirkunov (10-2 MMA, 1-0 UFC) will welcome Alex Nicholson (6-1 MMA, 0-0 UFC) to the promotion at UFC 196. Promotion officials announced the new booking today.

UFC 196 takes place Feb. 6 at MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. The main card airs on pay-per-view following prelims on FOX Sports 1 and UFC Fight Pass. The bout order hasn’t been finalized.

Cirkunov has five straight wins, including his UFC debut this past August – a first-round knockout of Daniel Jolly at UFC Fight Night 74 in Saskatoon, Canada. The 28-year-old Latvia native, who trains at Xtreme Couture in Las Vegas, has four knockouts and four submissions on his resume, and his five consecutive victories all are first-round stoppages.

Nicholson, from Florida, has all six of his career wins by stoppage with five knockouts and a submission. The 25-year-old, who also has fought at heavyweight, has won five straight since the lone loss of his pro career, with four of those victories coming in the first round. He went 3-0 in 2015 with three knockouts in his home state.

Ik denk toch dat Werdum zijn titel kan behouden in de rematch tegen Cain...Cain haalt veel van zn succes in zn striking en pressure game uit het feit dat zn tegenstanders erg alert zijn op de takedown, en daardoor de ruimte laten... Werdum kan het geen reet schelen dattie eventueel naar de grond gehaald wordt, sterker nog, hij voelt zich daar het best. In de clinch, een andere favoriete plek van Cain zal Werdum ook de nodige wapens hebben om het Cain moeilijk te maken gezien zijn sterk ontwikkelde MT onder Cordeiro...Maar zoals iedereen al aangeeft het is HW dus 1 treffer en het kan klaar zijn...
