Chael Sonnen: The only thing bigger than UFC 167 is Wanderlei Silvas forehead
UFC respects the decision made today by Judge Michael E. Martinez in New Mexico Second Judicial District Court regarding the probation terms of the case involving Jon Jones.
The organization was disappointed to learn that Jones was cited for several traffic offenses last week, as well as concerned by the nature and tone of portions of the conversation between Jones and the citing officer.
Still, UFC respects Jones' right to contest those traffic citations in court and receive a fair hearing on the matter.
Jones' scheduled bout on April 23 will proceed as planned, however, Jones understands that the UFC expects him to fully cooperate with the terms of his probation as set forth by Judge Martinez.
UFC light heavyweight Jon Jones lost his title last after a hit-and-run accident last year. He is set to fight new champion Daniel Cormier at UFC 197 on April 23, but his most recent driving infraction potentially put the fight in peril.
Jones was issued five citations earlier this week when a police officer alleges he engaged in racing another vehicle, without actually speeding. The citations were for drag racing, exhibition driving, weaving, failing to properly display his license plate, and modifying his exhaust pipe.
The officer noted Jones had revved his engine. Jones said he was merely responding to a fan. Jones can be seen on video footage bitterly denying the drag racing accusation, with Albuquerque police officer Jason Brown engaging in what was construed by some as goading or escalating behavior.

Told you... Vraag me af of ze Rumble tegen Jones laten vechten nu. Zou wel een vette partij zijn.
Alleen niet voor de titel. Vraag me af of Jones daar genoegen mee neemt.
“On April 23rd I will be fighting Ovince St. Preux in Las Vegas"
Aldus Jon Jones..
Mooie partij voor OSP. Verder,mwoah.
Rumble pas geopereerd dus die kon niet. Jammer. Interim titel dus 5 rondjes.
Jon Jones vs. Ovince Saint Preux – for interim light heavyweight title.
"I'm going to make you pay for what you've done."
