BJ Penn vs. Dennis Siver at UFC 199 on June 4

UFC president Dana White has confirmed to Kevin Iole for Yahoo Sports that BJ Penn will fight Dennis Siver at UFC 199 on June 4, 2016 in Inglewood, California.

Penn, 37, has not fought since losing to Frankie Edgar in July of 2014. It was his third loss in a row. The UFC Hall of Famer has won just one fight since 2010, a first round KO of Matt Hughes. However, the great Hawaiian fighter showed up at Jackson Wink MMA in January, and stated his intention to fight again.

The return was delayed after allegations were made by a former employee. Penn strenuously denied any wrong doing. UFC chief operating officer Lawrence Epstein said the allegations could not be substantiated, clearing the way for the fighter to return to the Octagon.

"We have taken a look at the available facts, which aren't too substantial, and there are two stories of what happened," said Epstein. "To date, there has no action at all taken by any law enforcement agency. We decided to allow B.J. to fight. However, we are going to continue to monitor to the situation. If new information, more information, becomes available to us, obviously, we reserve the right to reevaluate."

Siver is on a two-fight losing streak, with one just one win in his last five, plus one win that was turned to a No Contest after a failed PED test.
