Bellator’s event in London later this month has undergone its final changes and now is official.

Bellator 158 lost its headliner earlier this week with the sudden death of heavyweight Kevin “Kimbo Slice” Ferguson, who was set to meet James Thompson. Paul Daley was supposed to fight Josh Koscheck in a grudge rematch, but a Koscheck injury put that bout on hold and, as previously reported, Daley will meet Douglas Lima in what will be the new headliner.

In addition, British fan favorite Michael Page (10-0 MMA, 6-0 BMMA) has a new opponent for his welterweight fight. He’ll now meet Evangelista Santos (21-17 MMA, 1-1 BMMA) on the card in front of his home fans. “Venom” Page had been slated to fight Fernando Gonzalez (25-13 MMA, 5-0 BMMA) before an injury forced him out.

Bellator officials announced the change today.

Bellator 158 takes place July 16 at The O2 in London.

Page has been one of Bellator’s most entertaining fighters and someone the promotion has looked to bring along at a comfortable pace. He has finished all but one of his professional opponents, including a first-round submission win in his most recent outing, an April win over Jeremie Holloway. All of Page’s nine career stoppages came in Round 1.

Santos made his promotional debut earlier this year at Bellator 153, where he pulled off a quick 30-second submission upset of Brennan Ward in front of Ward’s home fans. He took a quick turnaround against Saad Awad at Bellator 154 this past month, but he was stopped with a first-round TKO.

Zeker spectaculair.

Matt Mitrione cleared, fights Oli Thompson at Bellator 158 in London

Bllator 158 "London" comes to O2 Arena in London, England, on July 16, 2016. A stacked main card features home country favorites like Paul "Semtex" Daley and Michael "Venom" Page in bouts sure to light up the crowd.

A new fight now officially added to the card was previously during a Bellator 157 "Dynamite 2" post-fight interview. Shortly after Matt Mitrione knocked out Carl Seumanutafa, his next potential opponent Oli Thompson was brought to the ring.

There was just one problem -- Mitrione had been knocked so loopy by Seumanutafa that he couldn't remember the fight he just had. Despite that, Bellator seemed dead set on promoting a Mitrione vs. Thompson fight in London.

When reporters and fight fans alike cried foul that Mitrione would fight so soon after nearly being knocked out of his shoes and socks, the promotion quickly tweeted out some clarification.

oday's update from Bellator confirms that everybody passed their medical testing and that the heavyweight bout is official. Mitrione will put his 10-5 record on the line against a 17-8 fighter from East Sussex, England, who once held the title of "Britain's Strongest Man."

The recently updated Bellator 158 line-up is below.

    Bellator 158 "London" (Spike TV):
Welterweight Bout: Douglas Lima (26-6) vs. Paul Daley (38-13-2)
Heavyweight Bout: Matt Mitrione (10-5) vs. Oli Thompson (17-8)
Welterweight Bout: Michael Page (10-0) vs. Evangelista Santos (21-17)
Light Heavyweight Bout: Linton Vassell (16-5) vs. Francis Carmont (24-11)
Featherweight Bout: James Gallagher (3-0) vs. Mike Cutting (6-5)

    Bellator 158 "Prelims" Card (Spike.com):

Heavyweight Bout: Mark Godbeer (11-2) vs. James Mulheron (8-1)
Middleweight Bout: Michael Shipman (8-1) vs. Lee Chadwick (21-12-1)
Flyweight Bout: Pietro Menga (12-0) vs. Spencer Hewitt (12-10)
Bantamweight Bout: Luiz Tosta (9-2) vs. Dean Garnett (7-0)
Middleweight Bout: Jason Radcliffe (8-2) vs. Jack Mason (29-15)
Featherweight Bout: Chase Morton (6-2) vs. Nathaniel Wood (8-3)
Middleweight Bout: Alex Reid (11-9-1) vs. Manuel Garcia (27-19)
Middleweight Bout: C.J. Meeks (4-1) vs. Danny Mitchell (17-7-1)

Klinger in for injured Vassell, Grove vs. Mulheron added to Bellator 158

Linton Vassell has been knocked out of his bout with Francis Carmont at Bellator 158.

Vassell (16-5 MMA, 5-2 BMMA) was scheduled to compete in front of his fellow countrymen at the event, but will instead be replaced by Lukasz Klinger (7-2 MMA, 0-0 BMMA).

Bellator 158 takes place July 16 at The O2 in London. The main card airs on Spike at 9 p.m. ET via tape delay.

In addition to Klinger taking on Carmont (24-11 MMA, 2-1 BMMA) at light heavyweight, British heavyweight veteran Neil Grove (12-7-1 MMA, 3-3 BMMA) will take on James Mulheron (8-1 MMA, 0-0 BMMA) on the preliminary portion of the card.

Klinger will make his Bellator debut at the event. After starting his career with a six-fight winning streak, Klinger has a 1-2 record in his three most recent bouts, both losses coming by knockout.

Grove has not fought in Bellator since 2011 and has not had a professional bout since October 2013. The 45-year-old has a 2-5 record in his seven most recent bouts.

Mulheron rebounded from his first professional loss with a TKO of Tomasz Czerwinski in his most recent bout. He has five knockouts in his eight professional victories.
