Felice Herrig, Eddie Winleand, Jason Knight and Jim Alers each took home $50,000 bonuses for their efforts at Saturday’s UFC on FOX 20 event.

Herrig and Wineland earned “Performance of the Night” bonuses, and Knight and Alers took home “Fight of the Night” honors.

UFC exec Dave Sholler announced the winners at the post-event press conference.

UFC on FOX 20 took place at United Center in Chicago. It aired on FOX following early prelims on UFC Fight Pass.

Herrig (11-6 MMA, 2-1 UFC) fought for the first time in 15 months and scored an emotional victory over Kailin Curran (4-3 MMA, 1-3 UFC) in what seemed like a must-win affair. Herrig took the fight to the floor early and transitioned beautifully to her opponent’s back before sinking in the fight-ending choke in the first round, collecting the win and a bonus check.

Wineland (22-11-1 MMA, 4-5 UFC) returned from a year off in style, sticking and moving in vintage fashion before ultimately scoring a brutal third-round TKO over Frankie Saenz (11-4 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and securing a “Performance of the Night” bonus.

Knight (14-2 MMA, 1-1 UFC) and Alers (13-3 MMA, 1-2 UFC) met on the evening’s UFC Fight Pass prelims, and the featherweights left it all in the cage. Trading shots toe-to-toe from the start, Knight was able to get the best of the exchanges while also making his case for honorary Diaz brother status with near-constant trashtalking. Knight lobbied for a “Fight of the Night” bonus after a decision win and was ultimately rewarded, along with his opponent.

Ik vraag mij echt twee dingen af na dit event:
Ten eerste, wat is er in godsnaam aan de hand met Melendez? De oud strikeforce kampioen stond 21-2 voor hij naar de UFC kwam en staat nu 1-4 met verliespartijen tegen Bendo, Alvarez, Pettis en Barboza.
Ten tweede, was Holm niet gewoon enkel een slechte match up van Rousey? En is ze verder niet gewoon een matige mma vechter? Of ligt het gewoon allemaal heel dicht bij elkaar in die divisie?

Rousey heeft van Rousey verloren om er maar even een cliché in te knallen. Valentina was gedisciplineerd en dan wordt het gewoon snel minder met Holm, die helemaal niet heel slecht vocht.
