Conor McGregor, Nate Diaz, Anthony Johnson and Donald Cerrone each earned $50,000 fight-night bonuses at Saturday’s UFC 202 event.

Johnson and Cerrone picked up “Performance of the Night” awards, and McGregor and Diaz took home “Fight of the Night” honors.

UFC 202 took place Saturday at T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. The main card aired on pay-per-view following prelims on FS1 and UFC Fight Pass.

McGregor (20-3 MMA, 8-1 UFC) and Diaz (19-11 MMA, 14-9 UFC) met in the evening’s main event. The welterweight rematch saw the featherweight champion even the score with his rival at one win a piece. McGregor paced himself better than in their first encounter, relying on crisp combinations and avoiding the ground game to net a majority decision victory.

Johnson (22-5 MMA, 13-5 UFC) faced fellow slugger Glover Teixeira 25-5 MMA, 8-3 UFC) in the evening’s co-feature, and he made it a memorable affair. A nasty uppercut landed flush, and “Rumble” earned a knockout win in just 13 seconds, likely earning him a shot at UFC light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier in a rematch of a fight “DC” won by decision the first time around.

“Cowboy” Cerrone (31-7 MMA, 18-4 UFC), a onetime UFC lightweight title challenger, fought at welterweight for the third consecutive time, downing Rick Story (19-9 UFC, 12-7 UFC) in a barrage of strikes for a second-round TKO. It was Cerrone’s third consecutive performance bonus, as well, and “Cowboy” is now 11-1 in his past 12 contests.

The biggest man – and biggest name – on tonight’s pay-per-view card, McGregor (19-3 MMA, 7-1 UFC), will earn a record-setting disclosed payday of $3 million for his main-event rematch with Diaz (19-10 MMA, 14-8 UFC), who trails with a $2 million purse, MMAjunkie confirmed with a Nevada State Athletic Commission official.

Neither fighter is eligible for a win bonus, and instead, both earn flat paydays.

Former UFC heavyweight champion and WWE star Brock Lesnar had set a new record for a disclosed payout – $2.5 million – just last month when he returned from a five-year hiatus and met Mark Hunt in UFC 200’s co-headliner. McGregor, though, topped him by half a million dollars.

Elsewhere on the UFC 202 card, top-ranked light heavyweight contender Anthony Johnson (21-5 MMA, 12-5 UFC) is set to make $135,000 with a chance to double that number with a victory. His opponent, former title challenger Glover Teixeira (25-4 MMA, 8-2 UFC), will receive $65,000 to show with the potential of another $65,000 should he emerge victorious.

Former lightweight title challenger and current welterweight Donald Cerrone (30-7 MMA, 17-4 UFC) is slated to make $85,000 while his foe, Rick Story (19-8 MMA, 12-6 UFC), gets $41,000 with the same amount as a potential win bonus.

Also on the main card, Hyun Gyu Lim (13-5-1 MMA, 3-2 UFC) and Mike Perry (6-0 MMA, 0-0 UFC) get $18,000 and $10,000, respectively, while Tim Means (25-7-1 MMA, 7-4 UFC) gets $31,000 and Sabah Homasi (11-5 MMA, 0-0 UFC) $12,000, respectively. Win bonuses would double each fighter’s pay.

Wat een tof event!!! En wat een beesten, zowel Diaz als Mcgreggor. Mensen die nu nog aan Conor twijfelen snap ik niet, als zijn cardio nog beter is op dit gewicht kan hij zelfs in de 170 een hoop bereiken. Johnson ook een beest hoor, wat een power!

Wat een heerlijke pot. En ik scoor m net zoals de mensen hier (en de juryleden): Ronde 1, 2 & 4 voor Conor, 3 & 5 voor Nathan. Wel vreemd dat 1 jurylid de derde ronde 10-8 scoort, terwijl Conor niet naar de grond is gegaan en Nate meerdere keren wel.

Wat wel zo is, is dat ik nooit het gevoel heb gehad dat Diaz voortijding ging verliezen. Bij Conor had ik die angst wel even. Wellicht daarom de 10-8 van een jurylid.

Ik vind wel dat Conor wat lafjes vocht. Niet naar de grond gaan is gewoon slim, maar dat weglopen dat hij deed... Dat doen ze zo niet ' On the streets of Stockton'.

Tenslotte vind ik het ook wat laf dat Conor nu zegt dat de eventuele derde partij op '155' zal zijn. Hoezo 155? Hij roept de hele tijd dat hij de rematch op 170 wil, omdat hij een échte rematch wil. En deze partij was echt heel close. Dan zou, om de ultieme trilogie vol te maken, de laatste toch ook op 170 moeten zijn? Dat valt mij een beetje tegen van McGregor. Maar waarschijnlijk wel verstandig, want ik denk dat het wel meer in zijn voordeel is om een gewicht lager te vechten.

Vind er niks mis mee om de 3e partij op 155 te doen, 170 is in het voordeel van diaz, dat voordeel heeft hij nu twee keer gehad. Ook maakt het het makkelijker voor Conor gezien hij ook nog naar 145 moet om zijn titel te verdedigen. Eerlijk gezegd denk ik niet dat Conor nog veel op 145 gaat vechten.

Klasse van Conor. Had ik niet verwacht. Partij had net zo goed naar Diaz kunnen gaan. Moet het nog een keer kijken om zeker te zijn maar ik kan met deze uitslag wel leven.

In zo'n partij kan ik Conor wel pruimen. Maar om echt mijn respect te verdienen moet hij nu wel zijn titel gaan verdedigen.

ik denk dat het voor diaz het beste is om nu zijn hoofd te laten rusten tot mcgregor nr 3 wil .. lekker incashen en ff zn hoofd rust geven je kan hem al amper meer verstaan

Diaz is sowieso geen verliezer met 2 miljoen extra op de bank, waar hij tot vorig jaar nog voor een paar duizend dollar vocht.
