    Default WFL Fight Weekend MMA en Kickboksen



    Vechtsportliefhebbers opgelet! WFL en Spike organiseren dit jaar verschillende topevents. Vandaag maken wij de eerste data bekend van de WFL Fight Calender 2018 met hierop een nieuw initiatief: Fight Weekends. Twee weekenden waarvan één dag in het teken staat van de kickbokssport en één dag in het teken van MMA.

    Spike presents: WFL Final 8
    Tijdens het tweede Fight Weekend op 12 en 13 mei vindt Spike Presents: WFL Final 8 plaats. Winnaars van de Final 16 gaan op zondag 13 mei de strijd met elkaar aan. Andrei Stoica, Murat Aygun, Tarik Khbabez, Sam Tevette, Boy Boy Martin, Fabio Kwasi, Levi Rigters en de winnaar van het Wildcard toernooi (op zaterdag 24 maart) staan in de Final 8 line-up. Slechts één atleet gaat er met de felbegeerde titel vandoor.

    25 maart Fight Weekend:

    12 mei Fight Weekend:
    Spike Presents WFL: MMA 3 - TopSportCentrum Almere
    13 mei Fight Weekend:
    Spike Presents WFL: Final 8 & Final 16 - TopSportCentrum Almere

    Two heavy hitting heavyweights will enter the cage during the second edition of WFL MMA. The all-round veteran, Dion Staring will take on the always dangerous Nills van Noord in a battle that you dont want to miss. Expect fireworks in this fight between the Soldier and the Caveman!

    Groenhart is a well known name in kickboxing. Fernando, the youngest of the two brothers, is one of the best kickboxers around with more than 60 wins in his career. He will face a very tough opponent, Darryl Sichtman. Sichtman lost his last fight in the finals of the WFL 77 kg tournament and is determined to make up for his loss.

    Groenhart began his kickboxing career fighting on small shows in the Netherlands. He made his SLAMM debut in 2006, losing both of his fights with the organization, including a decision loss to Leroy Kaestner at B-Klass level. In 2008, Groenhart was invited by the K-1organization to take part in an eight-man tournament, which had originally been intended for heavyweights but was changed later for fighters around the 75 kg bracket. Groenhart won the competition in spectacular fashion, dispatching all three of his opponents by stoppage on the night to take the title in Milan.

    The 4-man lightweight tournament is full with killers. Every single one of them wants to strap the World Fighting League MMA belt around their waist but only one will leave as champion. From old-school vs. new-school in the first semi-final when Pieter Buist takes on Brian Lo A Njoe, to two promising prospects that will battle it out when Samir Noory faces Sully Bull. The semi-finals will take place on the 24th of march and the final will be fought on the 12th of may. Who will take the WFL MMA belt and become the first ever WFL MMA champion
