    Nobuhiro Obiya vs. Gilbert Melendez

    Round 1:

Left by Obiya, both guys looking to engage, Gil shoots, Obiya wards it off, hard overhand by Obiya and Gil wobbles back a little buty he's okay, reengages Obiya with a left and clinches with a bodylock along the ropes, now hits him with a 1-2, and they clinch briefly and break again.

Nice right by Obiya and he shoots again, good exchange there as Gil with a 1-2, Obiya countered, and Gil poppped a hard knee to the body. Gil with an excellent workrate, coming in with 1-2s and shooting. Now he grabs a double and slams Obiya down into side control, taking mount here.

Gil with a couple of hard rights on Obiya from mount, now he postures up and goes for more, Obiya bridges and Gil is back to the side, Obiya manages to hook a leg into a half guard. short rights and a good knee by Gil, Obya reeestablishes full guard and Gil stays busy going body, body head with punches with a good workrate, Obiya goes for an armbar, Gil wards it off and is back to Obiya's full guard, trying to push Obya's head down in a crossface and throw punches. Working very well from the guard.

Gil continues to throw chopping right hands from guard, Obiya tries to escape to his feet, now he does, Gil pushes him away and they're back up. Nice short right from Gil. Gil drops Obiya with a straight right, goes down to finish, gets some good punches but Obiya is still with it. Nice stomp, and a knee but Obya is holding on. Gil is working for psoition now, Obiya manages to get full guard.

Obiya has weathered the storm, Gil stands up, hits him with a left, nice escape from Obiya, he gets up and Gil sends him down again with a flurry, now he's trying to finish him again, but Obiya's proving a tough bastard. Gets halfguard again and Gil relentlessly hits the body. Obiya looking very demoralizes here as Gil hits him with a right. Obiya trying to stand up here- though I don't know why, because Gil has knocked him down twice. Gil is trying to control his hips and keep him down.

Obiya is trying heels on hips, good teeing off by Gil for a sec as he works to North-South on him. Gil tried a nice stomp there, he's really using Pride rules to his advantage, using stomps at every opportunity. They work to their feet now, Obiya clinching Gil up and tries to haul him down but Gil stays on his knees. They fall through the ropes and hte ref breaks it, standing restart.

Jab by Obiya, bodyshot and a short hook by Gil, nice uppercut by Gil, Obiya andswers with a left hook, they're trading, Obiata scoring with lefts, Gil countering with an uppercut, moving forward, and taking Obiya down into half guard, working punches to the body. Gonna restart in the centre.

Obiya regains full guard, Gil has slowed down a little bit here, Obiya wants an omoplata but gives that up. Gil works the body-head again. Now dropping flailing hammerfists on Obya.
Obiya tries to get a triangle, doesn't have enough to hold onto it, looking very demoralizes in an open guard as Gil hits short punches and hammerfists. Bell.

    Round 2:

They circle. Jab by Gil. Nice straight right by Gil catches Obiya. Nice uppercut-striaght-straight by Gil, knee by Obiya, Obiya grabs a bodylock, Gil trying to ward him off with crossface ala cro cop, Obiya takes him down but only momentarily. Gil's back up and teeing off with uppercuts and short hooks, wobbling Obiya, but he stays up this time, Gil realy taking it to hiim. Takes him down straight into mount but I dunno if Gil has enough gas to pound him out from here.

Restarted in the centre, Gil flattens out to wrad off a bridge, Obiya bridges and Gil has his back, rolls to his own back with a body triangle and is working for the RNC. Obiya has wrist control.

Gil content to punch with short ones to the body to distract Obiya, now he commits to the choke again, Obiya grabs his wrist again but he's going howhere fast here. Now they are both on their sides, Obiya manages to get onto his back and establish a very low haflf guard on Melendez' ankle, Gil easily passes that by moving his knee up and breifly gets to the side but Obiya gets guard again.

They are back to their feet, both guys hit rights, Obiya shoots, Gil sprawls and chases him with straight punches. Knee to the body by Gil and he takes him down into half guad again. Obiya looks like he wants to die. Gil with short rights, Obiya going for a pretty nice omoplata, moves it into a triangle, Gil just stands up and goes back down into his half guard with a bomb from his right. Bell.

    Gil dominated him hard.

    Mitsuhiro Ishida vs. Cristiano Marcello

    Round 1:

They both kick low, Ishida with a shot that tumbles them both out of the ropes, they'll restaret standing. Ishida fakes a shot, goes for a left hook, Marcello backs up and hits him with a high kick. Marcello misses a low kick. Ishida rushes forward and misses with a left. Marcello whiffs a hook as Ishida ducks under and double legs into Marcello's full guard. Postures up with a couple of good rights, Marcello goes for a triangle, Ishiada gets out. Nice right bomb from Ishida, Marcello works his hips over for an armbar, looked good but Ishida moves with him and goes back into his fell guard with a couple of good punches. Ishida working well from the guard, looks a lot like the Aurelio fight at this point. Upkick by Mercallo as Ishida gets up and kicks Marcello twice hard. Marcello reverses Ishida into mount as he goes back down, but he can't hold onto it and Ishida reverses him right back ito his full guard. Pounding well with both hands, dropping lots of good rights and now left hammerfists. He tries to pass and ends up in Marcello's half guard. Marcello works back to full easily, Ishida continues to pound well with right bombs and hammerfists.

Ishida working left hammerfists, Marcello works his hips up but nothing there, Ishida stays busy with punches from the guard. Now he's really pouring it on as he passes Marcello's guard and knees his butt a couple times. Marcello works back onto his back and tries for a triangle, Ishida pops out. Looks like they're talking to each other for a second, Marcello trying to strike from the bottom with wild hammerfists Azeredo style.

Marcello has his legs in triangle territory, nothing comes of it and Ishida throws more good rights and lefts. Marcello tries to escape but Ishida controls him and stays in his guard. Ishida's glove has come loose and they will take time to fix it.

Ishida's punches are getting wilder but he continues to score well from Marcello's guard. He tries to pass and almost rolls Marcello over but winds up in his full guard yet again. Constant pounding from guard by Ishida, dropping good punches. Marcelo works his hips up and wants an armar, now curls to his back to try a knee bar, thinks better of it and goes back to guard.

Ishida's workrate has slowed down a little here, but he hits a couple good rights there. He looks kind of tired. Marcello tries a triangle, Ishida evades it and almos passes but Marcello has a solid guard. The ref stands them up. Both guys tentative to engage in the standup. Ref calls for action. No strikes thrown yet. Glancing low kick by Marcello. Ishida circling away from Marcello, highkick by Marcello, Ishida shoots a single and gets it, in Marcello's open guard near the ropes. Bell.

    Round 2:

They call for time, Marcello didn't have his mouthpiece in. Back to it. Tentative standup so far. I think Marcello has the advantage here, he should be more aggressive. Ishida ieasily gets a single leg into Marcello's guard. Nice upkicks by Marcell, wants to try a triangle but Ishida won't let him. Ishida's workrate has gone down quite significantly, now Marcello tries to turn his hips again, Ishida moves with him and neutralizes it. Marcello turns over for a nice armbar! It looks good and Ishida's in a bad spot, it looks more like a reverse armbar now but Ishida is staying cool and it looks like he'll get out. He's out now. Tense moment for T-Blood fans there.

Isihda is in Marcello's open guard now. He tries to pass, Marcello wants another armbar but Ishida passes guard momentarily and geta knee to the head before Marcello turns back to his back and gets guard again. Ishida looks gassed here, some hammerfists to Marcello's body. Nice right hand to Marcello's head. Ishida not doing a whole lot now, Marcello trying to upkick him nad he momentarily pases off of that, Marcello trying one last triangle, Ishida wants to stand up and evade up, he's still got one arm in but Marcello is too ttired. He gives it up and they trade short punches with each other from Marcello's guard as time expires.

    Ishida wins

    Hayato Sakurai vs. Luciano Azevedo

    Round 1:

Azevedo misses a low kick. Mach hits a hard one. Nice middle kick by Azevedo, he shoots a single, Sakurai sprawls on it and throws knees to his head from North-South. He gets a nice knee in a thai clinch as they stand but Azevedo commits to the single, siwtches over to a double, and takes him down. Some short body shots by Azevedo from Sakurai's closed guard. Some short punches by Azevedo, heel kicks from guard by Mach. Azevedo can't really effectively pound him at this point, some short right hands to the body and head. They restart in the centre of the ring. Mach is not doing much in a closed guard, Azevedo with no real effective strikes from guard so far.

Mach tries to stand up, Azevedo doesn't let him, passes to half guard and thinks about na arm triangle for a second. He passes his leg over and tries to mount Sakurai but ends up in his guard again. They should stand this up.

Azevedo with a couple more short punches. They stand it up. Mach is carded for stalling.

Low kick by Mach. he misses an overhand right as Azevedo shoots and Sakurai spralws on it, Azevedo goes to guard position and gets up again, he shoots again right away and hets kneed as he goes for the single but still has ahold of Mach's leg. Mach manages to break free. Teep by Azevedo. Overhand right and a knee b Sakurai, Azevedo has a hold of a single as Mach throws a couple righth ands. Sakurai gets to north-south as he extricates his leg, throws some short punches and stand up. Azevedo kicks at his knee. Ref stands him up.

Knee by Sakurai. They clinch in the corner, Azevedo tries another single, now tries a double, they're against the ropes. Sakurai maybe thinking about reversing it iinto a throw. Azevedo seems to be bleeding. They break it and are going to check his cut, it appears to be below his eye so this probably won't be the end.

I stand corrected, they stop it for the cut, Mach wins by TKO. That was anticlimactic. Ohw ell. Not the best fight.
