UFC champion Rampage Jackson landed a role in Clive Barker’s “Midnight Meat Train” — a horror film — that is scheduled to for release on May 16, 2008. In addition, there is some chatter that he is working on another reality series in which his parents move in and help him raise his four children.
Midnight Meat Train is a horror film based on Clive Barker’s 1984 short story of the same name, which can be found in the short story collections the Books of Blood. The film will follow a NYC photographer who attempts to track down a serial killer dubbed the ‘Subway Butcher’ and discovers more than he bargained for under the city streets. When Leon Kaufman’s latest body of work – a collection of provocative, nighttime studies of the city and its inhabitants — earns the struggling photographer interest from prominent art gallerist Susan Hoff (Brooke Shields), she propels him to get grittier and show the darker side of humanity for his upcoming debut at her downtown art space. Believing he’s finally on track for success, Leon’s obsessive pursuit of dark subject matter leads him into the path of a serial killer, Mahogany, the subway murderer who stalks late-night commuters — ultimately butchering them in the most gruesome ways imaginable. With his concerned girlfriend Maya (Leslie Bibb) fearing for his life, Leon’s relentless fascination with Mahogany lures him further and further into the bowels of the subways and ultimately into an abyss of pure evil – inadvertently pulling Maya right along with him.”

Distributeur waarschuwt zelf voor horrorfilm
AMSTERDAM - De film Midnight Meat Train, de nieuwste horrorfilm van Clive Barker, is niet geschikt voor kinderen onder de 18 jaar. Dat heeft de Nederlandse distributeur A-Film dinsdag laten weten.
Kijkwijzer, die ouders en opvoeders waarschuwt tot welke leeftijd een film schadelijk kan zijn voor kinderen, heeft zelf een advies gegeven voor 16 jaar en ouder voor Midnight Meat Train. De organisatie kent geen aparte classificatie voor 18 jaar en ouder.
De distributeur komt zelf echter met een strenger advies om „de bloederigheid en gruwelijkheid van deze film te benadrukken”. Het betreft een eenmalig experiment, aldus A-Film. Er zijn nauwelijks klachten binnengekomen bij de Kijkwijzer-organisatie, „maar A-Film deelt de zorg van de samenleving en parlement over de toenemende rol van geweld in films.”
Volgens directeur Wilco Wolfers van A-Film is Midnight Meat Train „kwalitatief fantastische horror, maar komen er afslachtingen in voor die zelfs de meest doorgewinterde horrorfanaat doen gruwen. Bij 18 jaar ligt de verantwoordelijkheid van de filmkeuze bij jezelf, en als distributeur voelen we ons verplicht de filmbezoeker op de hoogte te brengen van het enorme bloedvergieten in deze film.”
Midnight Meat Train vertelt het verhaal van Leon, een fotograaf in New York die de opdracht krijgt de donkere kant van de samenleving te fotograferen. Hij komt hierdoor op het spoor van 'subway butcher' Mahogany. De opdracht wordt levensgevaarlijk als hij zelf het slachtoffer dreigt te worden van deze man, die niet terugdeinst voor gruwelijke en bloederige afslachtingen.
