CALIFORNIE - Twee Bigfoot-jagers claimen het lichaam te hebben gevonden van het legendarische monster. Morgen zullen zij het bewijs van hun bijzondere ontdekking wereldkundig maken.




De twee Amerikaanse wetenschappers, Matthew Whitton en Rick Dyer, leiden verschillende Bigfoot exepedities. Na jaren zoeken zouden zij nu eindelijk het bewijs hebben gevonden dat het monster daadwerkelijk bestaat.

Vriezer

Het duo zegt twee weken geleden een dood exemplaar te hebben gespot in de bossen van Georgia, in het noorden van de VS, en besloten het karkas in een vriezer te leggen.

Monster

De jagers hebben foto's van het grote lichaam al op hun - overigens drukbezochte - website gezet, maar maken het nieuws morgen pas officieel wereldkundig. Ze beschrijven hun vondst als een monster van ruim 2 meter lang en noemen het een kruising tussen aap en mens. Het beest zou zo'n 230 kilo wegen en rood haar met zwart-grijze ogen hebben.

De beroemde voeten van Bigfoot worden beschreven als 'plat en 41 centimeter lang met vijf tenen.' Ook de handen tellen vijf vingers per stuk. Het gebit van het schepsel wordt vergeleken met dat van een mens.

Beschermen

De mannen claimen dat verschillende Bigfoots door het bos liepen op de plaats waar het lichaam werd gevonden, maar willen de precieze locatie niet onthullen 'om de vermeende primaatsoort te beschermen.'

Yeti

Ook het broertje van Bigfoot, de yeti ofwel de Verschrikkelijke Sneeuwman, kwam recent in de spotlights te staan toen een wetenschapper vorige maand opperde haren van het schepsel te hebben gevonden.

Primaatsoort?

Indien de Sasquatch - zoals de Indiaanse van Bigfoot naam luidt - bestaat, zal hij waarschijnlijk afstammen van de Gigantopithecus uit Azië, die dan net als de mens zo'n 13.000 jaar geleden zijn weg over de ijskap tussen Noord-Azië en Canada zou hebben gebaand.

The Big Foot claims have once again proved to be a hoax. DNA tests proved that one of the two samples of DNA taken from the body in the picture above came from a human, and the other was 96 percent from an opossum.

The Georgia Bigfoot Body story is a hoax and a scam, started by two guys in Georgia. The "body" is a widely available Halloween costume that sells for $499 stuffed into a large cooler, with some animal entrails laid on top. This now debunked hoax/scam was being orchestrated by a notorious Las Vegas con-man and promoter named Carmine Thomas Biscardi. The hoax involved Biscardi, Mathew Gary Whitton (a Sherriff deputy), Rick Dyer, Martin Whitton, and Loren Coleman. The hoax was orchestrated to help boost interest in one of the men’s Big Foot tracking web sites.

One mistake the hoaxers made was when sheriff deputy, Matthew Gary Whitton, went to the airport to meet a "scientist" who he claimed came to Georgia to examine the "body." Various people figured out that the "scientist" was actually the deputy’s own brother, Martin Whitton.

Looks like Big Foot is still as real as ghosts.

Dit is NIET het geval, kijk ook de laatste filmpjes op CNN.com.
De broer van Whitton staat inderdaad op youtube in een filmpje als "wetenschapper", maar dit was een geintje van de vinder(inderdaad een beetje misplaatst van hem).

Vooralsnog ligt er gewoon een (mensenlijk, gezien DNA test, maar die word opnieuw gedaan)lijk in die vriezer met heel veel haar van 2.30. Maar dat is ook vrij ongewoon.
Hopelijk komt er nog meer uit dan wat vage fotos....we zullen het binnekort wel horen.
