Wat vonden jullie van die knie van Cerrone? Goed of fout? Volgens mij was het geen illegale move, maar een beetje ongelukkig was het wel. Echt jammer dat hij heeft verloren; is zijn eerste verliespartij ooit (in kickboksen en MMA).

It hasn’t been two hours since the fight between Jamie Varner and Donald Cerrone ended, and there is already controversy over whether the knee seen above was legal or not. The ref saw it as illegal and the official ruling was that it was illegal, but that hasn’t stopped a decent amount of people from calling bullshit.
To be honest, I don’t know if it is legal or not. It could go either way. Here are the official rules, I’ll let you make up your own mind.

1. A knee cannot be thrown at an opponent with a knee down
2. A knee cannot be thrown at an opponent with three points down (2 feet and a hand)

I think it is important to point out that regardless of the final outcome, both fighters put on a hell of a show and neither one of them has anything to apologize for.
