Alistair Overeem will defend his Strikeforce heavyweight championship at the organization's June 6 show in St. Louis, he revealed Friday to Ariel Helwani.
Overeem went from a run-of-the-mill light heavyweight to an extremely impressive heavyweight in 2008, packing on muscle while fighting in Japan and winning fights in both MMA and K-1. When Helwani asked Overeem whether he could declare that he's completely clean, Overeem answered, "Of course. Why would I not?"
There's no word yet on who Overeem will face for the Strikeforce heavyweight belt. Other fights on the Strikeforce June 6 card include Jake Shields vs. Robbie Lawler, Renato "Babalu" Sobral vs. Rafael Cavalcante and Phil Baroni vs. Joe Riggs.
