Ik zeg niet dat het zijn spel niet gevarieerder zou maken, maar er is nog erg veel wat ze - in mijn ogen - eerst moeten leren. Je mag niet vergeten dat Sergio nog "maar" 9 maanden aan 't trainen is. Al bij al doet hij het niet slecht denk ik dan!

Maar voordat je denkt dat ik ze alleen guardjumpen wil leren: er is al een uitgebreid takedown-seminarie gepland in zomer 2010 door één (en mogelijk twee) van de beste takedowners die ik persoonlijk ken!

Hmmmmmmmm.... first of all, I am trying to make your game as complete as possible in the short period of time you train so you know a solution to every situation you might encounter in a competition fight. Secondly, I have already given a small introduction to the art of take-down, but saw that the fysical capacities of my students didn't allow for the movements necessary for a successful take-down. Since then, I have tried to implement preparatory exercises in the warm-up that are even too difficult (or painfull) for most of you at this moment, so I'm forced to go very slow on this.

Thirdly, a guardjump takes your opponent to your guard (which is your prefered position). A take-down puts your opponent on his back, giving you an edge to pass an eventual guard and go for a side- or even mount-position. You prefer to give up a mount when you have it to return to your guard rather than learn how to keep the mount and attack from it.

So quite frankly, I don't know what you are complaining about.

Oh, and before I forget my last point: you're always welcome to go train at Pedro's!

We know Christophe he is a very good guardplayer. It would be nice to see a strong guy like you take someone down and work from top. But you do have great triangles.

Thanks for the compliment amigo, and don't worry: one day he'll learn the take-down and the top-game. And the triangle from the mount works pretty well too, so he doesn't have to give it up for his top-game!
