Sakuraba added to Dream 11 card - no opponent announced

MMA legend Kazushi Sakuraba (24-12-1) was earlier today announced as a late addition to Tuesday's DREAM.11 event by the Japanese-based organization.

An opponent for "The Gracie Hunter" has not yet been named.

In a bit of additional card-shuffling, lightweight Daisuke Nakamura was moved to the promotion's Oct. 25 event, DREAM.12.

Both events air in North America on HDNet.

The 40-year-old Sakuraba is an astonishing 27-time veteran of the now-defunct PRIDE organization. With an unparalleled career record that includes bouts with Vitor Belfort, Mirko "Cro Cop" Filiovic, Quinton "Rampage" Jackson, Kimo Leopoldo, Guy Mezger, Carlos Newton, Antonio Rogerio Nogueira, Kevin Randleman, Ken Shamrock, and Wanderlei Silva, not to mention wins over Renzo, Royce, Royler and Ryan Gracie, Sakuraba can truly be considered among the legends of the sport.

However, Sakuraba is just 3-3 in his past six outings, including a recent 0-2 slide. The Japanese product seeks his first win since April 2008 as he fights for the first time in 2009.

Meanwhile, Nakamura was originally scheduled to face Gesias "JZ" Cavalcante, but the Brazilian was forced out of the contest after suffering an injury in training. Unable to secure a suitable opponent in time, DREAM has rescheduled Nakamura for the Oct. 25 event, DREAM.12.
