Mirko Cro Cop Retires At UFC 137, Wanted Win In Farewell Fight



Although it wasn't set in stone it was expected that UFC 137 would be the last appearance for Mirko "Cro Cop" Filopovic.

The Croatian had hinted at retirement in the lead up to Saturday's pay-per-view but following a loss at the hands of Roy Nelson, Cro Cop made it official.

“I told before this fight this was going to be my farewell fight. Unfortunately, I didn’t make it. I wanted to say goodbye with a victory, but Roy was just better tonight. Congratulations,” he stated following the fight.



Filipovic retires with at 27-10-2 MMA record. He is also the 2006 Pride Open Weight Grand Prix Champion.
