Magomed Malikov vs. Jessie Gibbs set for M-1 Challenge 32

April 8, 2012 By admin
Russian heavyweight sensation Magomed Malikov (6-1) is back after his stunning upset victory againstAlexander Emelianenko. He will take on tough veteran Jessie Gibbs (10-5) on May 16 in Moscow.
#1 in Bloody Elbow heavyweight prospect rankings, Magomed Malikov burst onto scene in 2011, when he put to sleep two well-known heavyweight veterans Alexei Oleinik and Alexander Emelianenko, for only three minutes combined. Humble and quiet man from Dagestan lets his heavy right hand talk for himself in the ring, five of his six victories were by knockout or TKO.

Dutch heavyweight Jessie Gibbs never looked for an easy opponent: his second fight was against Alexander Emelianenko in his prime. For five years of his professional career Gibbs fought against who’s who in European heavyweight rankings. He has black belt in BJJ and very dangerous in ground game – probably, the only relatively weak component in his opponent’s fighting arsenal. It makes this fight even more interesting: striking versus grappling, youth versus experience – another classic battle on M-1 ring!
