Bangkok Thailand December 4th

Filip Verlinden from Belgium has been training with Golden Glory for quit some time now, recently his father Wim Verlinden and Filip himself decided to join Golden Glory and train on a daily routine with the pro’s. Wim Verlinden Filip"s father studied Thai boxing more then 25 years ago and Wim travelled to Breda every week. His trainer was Cor Hemmers (who now is also the trainer of son Wim Verlinden) .Bas Boon the manager from Golden Glory could also be found at the gym in Breda 25 years ago and knows Wim Verlinden from that time.

Filip was already present at the G.G training camp in Pattay Thailand in September for the preparation with the Golden Glory fighters for the K-1 qualifications in Korea.
After that Filip fought at the PTA event in October as a replacement for Errol Zimmerman (he took the fight on short notice) however, Filip fought a very good fight against Brice Guidon.

At the moment Golden Glory is preparing for the K-1 WP Finals in Pattaya, Thailand. At the same time there are the amateur worldchampionships from the IFMA.
This is the same organisation where Ignashov became victorious before his impressive fight against Rob Kaman.

Filip fought three times and won all fights, the last fight was really hard, but Filip scored a lot of low licks in round three.
In Filip's corner was his father, Gokhan Saki, Errol Zimmerman and also Robbie Hagemam they all travelled to Bangkok to support the newest G.G fighter in his championship bout (see photo’s). Pieter Hoovers from the hook of Holland and Boris also came to support Filip. Pieter and Boris will promote two worldchampion Muay Thai bouts on January 2nd 2011 at Mike's shopping mall in Pattaya Thailand (see photo). Robbie Hageman from Golden Glory has been fighting for two years at the same promotion in Thailand.

Congratulation to Filip Verlinden with this impressive performance
