GSP 'ates Nick Diaz (professionally, not personally) so much that he recently told friend and training partner Kenny Florian he would give up his title for the opportunity to fight him.
Just prior to the Condit Diaz fight, GSP laid out his feelings.
"It is weird that I want Condit to lose," said GSP. "But I have never wanted to fight anyone as much as I want to fight Diaz. I don't truly 'ate him as a person. I don't know that he is a bad guy, but I 'ate what he brings to the sport with the disrespect and the unprofessional things he says and does. It is sort of a professional 'atred. He has been nothing but disrespectful and arrogant towards me ... I am determined to get back to the Octagon as soon as possible to fight this guy."
When Diaz lost a decision to Carlos Condit at UFC 143 in Saturday night, the idea of GSP's next fight being Nick Diaz appeared to have lost too.
However, last night UFC Tonight host Florian said that after 143, GSP told him he wants to fight Diaz so badly that he would be willing to give up his title.
However, later last night news broke that a rematch between Diaz and Condit is in the works, so once again GSP will sit and hope that Diaz, who he 'ates (professionally) comes out on top. But even if Condit wins again, there is a chance that GSP's first fight back is not for the title, but simple because he (professionally) 'ates Nick Diaz so badly.
