August 8 in Paramaribo, Suriname will see a collision between two of the most talented of kickboxing heavyweights not signed to GLORY. Ismael “Mr. Pain” Londt makes his return to kickboxing after a five month break, squaring off against Benjamin Adegbuyi, one of the most highly rated fresh faces on the circuit.
Londt is coming off a loss to Mirko Cro Cop in the finale of the 2012/2013 K-1 Grand Prix. Londt shocked the world in the opening round of the tournament when he defeated Hesdy Gerges by unanimous decision, almost certainly blowing a large amount of his infamous gas tank in the process. After winning a second decision over Dzeved Poturak, Londt suffered a high kick knockdown against Cro Cop in the finals, thereby losing the fight and the tournament.
The former SUPERKOMBAT HW Champion certainly has something to prove coming into the fight. He needs to show that despite his loss to Cro Cop, he still has the ability to hang with the best in the world.
Benjamin Adegbuyi might be one of the world’s hottest heavyweight prospects, had he hot been KO’d in the first round against Pavel Zhuravlev in the semi-finals of the SUPERKOMBAT Grand Prix last year. Adegbuyi is relatively new to competing against big names, but so far he’s done pretty well when given the chance, brutally destroying Sergei Laschenko, defeating Mladen Brestovac, and avenging one of his few losses against Jairzinhno Rozenstruik.
A win against Londt would speak wonders of Adegbuyi’s potential in SUPERKOMBAT, and could potentially line him up for a rematch with the 2012 SUPERKOMBAT Grand Prix Winner, Pavel Zhuravlev.
Also on the card, the dynamic Nieky Holzken will be facing a “To Be Announced” opponent. The “Natural” has been near perfect in his last two fights, defeating both Murat Dureksci and the highly touted Kharim Ghajji but TKO victory.

Mooie partij. Adegbuyi is zeker geen pannenkoek, maar heeft over het algemeen wel problemen met zware stoters. Londt zal het vroeg (moeten) proberen te beëindigen want naarmate zijn tank leeg raakt zal Benjamin meer op dreef gaan komen. Originally Posted by mara
