The film contains a photo taken shortly after the crash. According to the director it shows Diana injured, but alive. Lawyers would not allow the film to be shown in the UK unless this photo was removed.

As a result, it will be shown across the world after its debut at the Cannes film festival, but not in Britain. It was partly financed by businessman Mohammed Al Fayed, whose son Dodi was also killed in the crash.

The film also criticises the conduct of coroners and the police during the investigation into Diana's death. It'll more than likely fuel the suspicion that her death was set up by security forces and the royal family.

The inquest into her death concluded in April 2008 that she was unlawfully killed due to the gross negligence of the paparazzi and her driver, Henri Paul.

At the Diana Memorial fountain in London's Hyde Park, there was some concern among the public over the film and its subsequent banning.

Some critics have said that including the photos amounts to nothing but cheap sensationalism. But the film's director says that it's necessary to show them to support his argument that there is more to the death of Princess Diana than meets the eye. British viewers are just going to have to wait before they can see this evidence for themselves.
