Misfortune continues to dog the flamboyant UFC journeyman Phil Baroni.
After having his 12 month suspension for striking a referee at UFC 45 miraculously reduced to 6 months things were looking up for Baroni. Unfortunately for Baroni he looked lacklustre in his comeback fight against Evan Tanner and lost on points. Since then he has undertaken a rigorous training regime in hope of putting on a better performance in his next fight.
Yesterday in training, Baroni suffered a torn MCL and possibly a torn menincus in his knee. Doctors have told him that he will be unable to compete in UFC50 and provided that the healing goes as expected, he could be fit again in time for UFC52.
