Pedro Rizzo eyeing Pride: 'I am going to knock everybody out!'

After a succesfull NHB stint spanning 7 years, amassing a record of 14 - 5, Pedro Rizzo has been away from action since November '03, when, after his win over Rico Rodriguez, Pedro and the UFC failed to reach an agreement for a new contract.
Pedro hasn't stood still since then, and in fact has reinvented himself, with a new grappling coach, a new hair cut and a new attitude: 'No more mister nice guy!' Pedro says!
Recently there has been serious interest in Pedro's services from Japanese events, especially Pride and K1. And with the new offers, Pedro has stepped up his training. 'I still train under Marco Ruas and Beto Leitao. My Muay Thai is sharpened in Holland with Peter Aerts and now I have been training my ground with Andre Pederneiras and the Nova Uniao team, so I believe I have the best team possible'.
Pedro's counter-attacking style was considered by many as too conservative and Pedro agrees: 'The problem with the cage is that the fight rules eventually changed and went from being a NHB fight with lots of action to a takedown, push against the cage and then elbows to the face to cut. It wasn't like they were trying to knock you out, they were just trying to cut you up. So I fought a very conservative style because I knew that if I was taken down I would be in trouble. I believe fighting in the ring at Pride, this will be resolved. The Pride rules are much more suited for me and I promise everyone: 'No more Mister nice Guy!'
When asked about who he would prefer to fight Pedro is quick to answer: 'Of course I'd like to fight the Champion Fedor, but I know that I have to work my way back before I can face the Champion, so my plan is to fight anyone they throw in front of me. I am just going to knock everybody out until I get to Fedor!'
Look out Japan, the new Pedro Rizzo is coming and the knock outs are on the way!
-Hier zat ik al een tijdje op te wachten!
